Why liberals/progressives are better...

Last night at a strategy session in my Tier 2 battleground state, I decided to take inventory of the people at the Obama for (red state city) meeting, and I immediately noticed something.

Everyone at the table was smart. Two French graduate students, two political science graduate students, myself (a law/graduate student), an MBA student, an attorney and a doctor (both women), and an older woman, and about three college students set to graduate in December. All of these people were black and white, male and female.

This wasn't a surprise to me, by no measurable standard, because liberals tend to use their brains. I finally figured it out. This is why Limpballs hates liberals -- because we're smart, and without regard to how affluent liberals are, we always tend to look for the better angels in each other -- our humanity. We view people not as a zero-sum game, but as humans, who are all worthy of at least dreaming and accomplishing those dreams and wanting those same dreams available to everyone.

I'm a liberal, and I wouldn't have it any other way.
