Condoleezza Rice for President?
Pure speculation, but interesting:

http://news.yahoo.com/s/huffpost/20080616/cm_huffpost/107236%3B_ylt%3DAm9CznRX4faDGxJ6tAydi6ce6sgF

Summary:

Over the next couple months, it becomes clear to the Republican party that McCain is unelectable. He is encouraged to decline the nomination and a new candidate is put forth by that party. The press jumps all over it, loving a new horse race, and Obama has to completely replan his campaign.

Ridiculous, except I have genuine doubts about McCain's health...

1. Bring it on.
She was incompetent as shrub's national security advisor and has been worthless as Secretary of State.

Maybe that makes her eminently qualified to be the GOP nominee.

2. Rice is a
Rice is a garbage prospect for office and is purely a concept born out of the steal the thunder concept by going after women and black votes.

She is one of the foremost architects of some of the worst policy in American history and probably should be up on charges.

4. Hmmmm, a biracial man and a black woman running for President.
THAT would set the racist's heads to spinning faster than Linda Blair's in The Exorcist!

(And btw, I think Condi is a sack of crap.)

5. Wouldn't matter.
This isn't about McLame. It's about the Republican party and their ideology. They suck.

6. For some reason
And at risk of seeming 'paranoid' - I could see it happen.

But as a woman of color - her being a woman of color would not impact my vote OR my Progressive Beliefs.

All we have to do is run continuous footage of her post the shoe shopping trip during Katrina where she says, "Yes, I am a black African American and . . ."

Yes Condi. You are black. Which means you are an African American. Now shut up and go play piano you eejit!

No one wanted to run against a historic candidate. McCain was the only one they could find dumb/desperate enough to accept. The others are saving their reputations for a year where they have more than a snowball's chance in hell. Even Condi isn't going to step in here because she's too close to the Bush admin to have a shot.

10. I honestly don't think Condoleezza Rice has the chops to
run a bakery.

She's been spectacularly overmatched in every job she's had in the Bush administration.

They are NOT interested in having her return to Stanford.

She doesn't know from Shinola.

I'm just not seeing her going anywhere from the nowhere she's at now.

11. I have doubts about his health as well
but I don't think Rice has the guts to do it. As others have pointed out, she is a hatchetman for the Bush Administration and their failed policies. In some ways (non-health related) she'd be worse then McCain because of the ties to Bush. If it were to happen I think it would be Romney or Huckabee.
