Hillary Rodham Clinton Showed Amazing Grace Today in New Hampshire.
Edited on Fri Jun-27-08 06:35 PM by David Zephyr
That had to be really hard for Hillary today in Unity. But if it was, she never let it show. Not even for a second. I like that. A lot.

Today was a beautiful day for Democrats and just a rotten day for Republicans. Thank you, Hillary.

I have to really give it up to this woman. Today could not have been an easy moment for her and, yet there she was sucking it in like a trooper, and standing there in front of the whole world calling for unity behind Senator Obama. She showed a tremendous amount of grace and --- a lot of class.

As a Democrat, I was very, very proud of our party today.

Senator Clinton is not my choice by any stretch to be Obama's VP choice, but should he choose her to be his running mate, there will be no protest from me.

But setting all of that aside, today, I am saluting Hillary Rodham Clinton.

I don't think it was hard for Hillary at all.

She looked relaxed and happy to be out on the stump for Barack.

Hillary really has found "her voice". She's stepped out from the shadow of Bill and is her own woman now. She has over 17,000,000 supporters behind her. I think she really hit her stride full steam after PA. Had she shown the same passion as she did later in the race, we might have seen Obama coming out to support HER as the Presidential nominee.

Regardless, I am VERY happy today. Seeing them together has pretty much wiped all the nastiness from this primary away for me.

And as for the VP nomination ........

12. She looked relaxed and happy -- you can't fake that
I think the warm welcome she got in Congress a day or two ago must have done a lot for her. Instead of being treated like a failure, she's been acclaimed as a success for what she did accomplish. Instead of leaving her followers feeling that if she couldn't get the nomination, no other woman would in their lifetime, she's being seen has having opened up a world of possibility.

I credit Obama with a lot of that. He has a great capacity for drawing people in and making them feel needed and important. You might almost say that in the past few weeks, Obama has re-invented a Hillary that all Democrats can feel good about. But Hillary also rose to the occasion magnificently, and I give her full credit.

every since they announced the whole unity festival
i've been driving those puma trolls crazy
and i always sign on with porn star names-

can u imagine the hilarity of internet tightasses responding to heather hunter?

they get really wound up, too

"YOURE SO WRONG JANET JACME!!!! PUMA UNITED AND 10 MILLION STORNG YUO LOOSER!!!!"

dumbasses

but yeah, she hit a grand slam today, and i applaud her

19. From what I saw, they both did wonderfully
She had some awesome lines, and I saw a much more relaxed and even happy woman up there. Maybe not happy so much as content with her position - resigned, but in a good way?

In any event, anyone, any pundit, who could claim that this party isn't unified - or at least the two factions supporting Clinton and Obama aren't pulling together due to some fault on the candidates' part - well, they must be nuts.

They said what they need to say - and then some by a lot. To me, they sounded like they were running together - whether she's on the ticket or not.

20. She Really Impressed Me, Too
The strain of slowing losing despite her best effort really seemed to catch up with her as the primaries went along. This was the sunny upbeat candidate that made her a front-runner to begin with.

27. I was proud too
Of both of them and of the Party. We all made history, our Party. She was perfection today. And to all those folks who thought she was going to run as an Indy or try to steal it at the convention, I hope you saw today what excellence looks like. She was not my choice, nor was he, but today I love them both.
I'd be fine with Hillary as Veep, but if I were her I'd want to stay in the Senate. It would be one strong ticket if both of them want it. A hell of a ticket.
We are going to win, and win big.

She seemed happy and sincere. So did he. It really made me able to believe maybe they have put the vitriol behind them, for real--and if so, that's true leadership, both of them.

I have to wonder if maybe, now that the loss has set in and she's had time to mourn it and move on a little, if she's not a bit relieved. Maybe I'm projecting because I think I would be in her place, but as much as she wanted to be President, she has to be seeing an up side to this. It's not the end of her political career by a long shot. It's not the end of her being able to work for big positive changes.

I remember seeing how Al Gore and John Kerry have both seemed to become stronger people - and stronger advocates for progressive causes--after going through their ordeal. It might be the end of one big dream, but it's nowhere near the end of ALL dreams. Might be the beginning of some other ones.

35. Well said Zephyr
I couldn't agree more. This primary must have been a major let down for Hillary. Hillary showed her true colors and my hat is off to her for that today.

I'm sure Obama will have a good place for her in his Cabinet . VP just won't work though.
