Nancy Pelosi to urge Judiciary committee NOT to go forward with contempt against Karl Rove.
http://www.afterdowningstreet.org/node/34610

I have firm confirmation that Nancy Pelosi is urging the Judiciary committee NOT to go forward with contempt against Rove.

Congressman John Conyers and the Judiciary staff are battling for it but this has become an infight among dems.

Time to burn up the phone lines.

How is this lady still in office, she is the ultimate yes woman to the Bush administration.

14. No one's telling who really knows, but rumor has it
that Pelosi's being blackmailed due to her going along with all the torture and illegal surveillance programs,
because she was briefed on it all long before it became public.

The fat fuck Rove isn't even part of the administration any more. He's a PRIVATE CITIZEN.

And since WHEN do PRIVATE CITIZENS get to evade a Congressional subpoena??

The McCarthy hearings sure brought in the private citizens and even JAILED some for refusing to speak.

How is Turdblossom immune?

17. Is it possible-- just maybe- that she is concerned that he'll be pardoned by Bush if they bust him?
And that by waiting, and continuing to gather evidence, they have a better shot at putting him away forever after Bush is out of office? I know it's a long shot but- might this be at all possible? It's the only reason I can think of that would make her take this position and have it make sense. Otherwise, what she is doing is unforgivable- but then again, so is keeping impeachment off of the table.

and he accepts then he has admitted that he broke the law while on the shrub's staff.

If there are no contempt proceeding for Rove, it will be DU conventional wisdom that Speaker Pelosi somehow obstructed it.

But if there are proceedings, it will be only because Conyers acted against the wishes of Pelosi, making him a hero, and Pelosi still the villain.

What a load of shit.

25. This is sickening
Haven't we spent enough time trying to make excuses for this Bush enabler, trying to think there may be some modicum of logic somewhere, that perhaps she knows something we don't? Haven't we spent enough time trying to defend the indefensible? Pelosi needs to go now. Her stonewalling has made the way for more BushCo crimes to occur and more innocent lives to be lost for a war of choice.

I, for one, am mad as hell and thoroughly disgusted with some of our so-called "leadership".

40. That is interesting, isn't it?
It was posted by Jesse Lee, who is Pelosi's Senior New Media Advisor.

Is it her official public face that is being projected here? You know for those in her district that aren't paying attention to what may really be transpiring?

I sure would like to know. Right now I'm in no mood for games. I want Rove's head. Rove should never have been in the White House in the first place, let alone given security clearances, and the authority to fuck up America. He has been very lucky in getting away with crimes he committed and instigated. It's about time his luck ran out. His ass needs to be in an uncomfortable jail - for a very long time.

47. I never liked that "could" caveat that I noticed right away. It's such a typical maneuver
"a refusal to appear in violation of the subpoena could subject Mr. Rove to contempt proceedings"
Perfectly consistent with "might, and even probably might, not!"

41. You know what, kentuck? I bet they have some
very interesting information about her, or her family she doesn't want the public to find out. Seeing that this administration majors in oppositional politics, I don't doubt they targeted many Democrats (and others) around the country to see what they could find to blackmail them with or have the US Attorneys go after them with their sanctimonious hypocritical election fraud indictments.

I think it's combination of what you say and more. Too bad politicians like Nancy are in politics as a professional career choice, instead of going into politics to be worthy public servants wanting to do the public good. I guess it's unreasonable to ask these professional politicians to suck it up and do what is right for America.

you can bet she has to at least get a diluted version of them. She is third in line. Still, there is more stench in the air than mere complicity. Reid is likely equally into it. We need Pelosi's people out ASAP.

Wexler for Speaker of the House!!!

Kerry for Majority Leader!!!!

We very much need for the people by the people in places of leadership.

I'm not going to speak on Nancy's personal policy belief's but I think it's clear that she's shown a dearth of aptitude in keeping her "house in order" given her position (Why did the FISA bill come up for a vote in the FIRST place? Do you think Hassert/Delay would let almost any ideological-averse bill even get out of committee?)
