Watch CNN's John Roberts 'interview' a thin-skinned and testy John McCain this morning.
Good questions, but no follow-up or correction of McCain's outrageous claims. Even so, Roberts will not be sitting in the special section of the 'Lap Dog Express' McCain's camp has reserved for the 'good' reporters.

1. What's with the barely suppressed "laughter"?
It's creepy. He seems angry and defensive and stupid. The fake "laughter" does not cover the anger; it just makes him look unbalanced. I couldn't listen to the whole thing, but I agree that Roberts needed to do more follow up. Still, I'm surprised that he even challenged him.

25. It also denotes a great smugness - as in - How dare you question
what I have thought out with all my economists and Nobel Prize winners and all my king's horses and all my king's men? You silly ridiculous pathetic fool!

The fake laughter is a device. Both reactive and suggestive. He's uncomfortable that he even has to answer these questions. I mean, shouldn't people just KNOW that he's the heir-apparent and he knows what's best and how can we even QUESTION him??!?!?!?!?!?!? How dare sniveling pathetic little us question him? And perhaps he's been coached enough to use the laughter as a device - to imply a belittling, a diminishing, a discounting, a laughing at or poking fun at. Because it's just so not worth it, what we're asking and why we're questioning. I found it insulting and dismissive of John Roberts and everyone else who's watching. Condescending and insulting and dismissive. Who died and made YOU God, mcsame?

I'm tellin' ya - he completely believes in the World's Biggest Entitlement Program: the republi-CONS' presumption that THEY are simply entitled to rule, and entitled to own the White House. That's just how it's supposed to be in the minds of people like him. It reminds me of reagan's "kitchen cabinet" during those awful reagan/bush years. He had a guy in there named justin dart, a Southern California industrialist. One of justin dart's pet ideas is saving "100 acres of trees - for the kids." Everything else, to him, was and should be disposable. I feel like, with some of these bastards, that's their attitude toward us Democrats and liberals and progressives. They'd like to see us isolated and sequestered off in some pen - endangered but not extinct. For one of their zoos I suppose.

LOSER.

2. I hope during the debates..
...Obama can find an innocuous way of getting under McCain's skin so that he just blows up on live TV.

I bet there's any number of Senators, R & D alike, who would be more than happy to show him which buttons to push.

26. It seems highly likely. However ...
... lockstepping Republicans will say it was *righteous anger* that made McCain have to explode in fury.

We can hope that such an occurrence will receive the kind of media attention that Dean's (fake) scream got, and with the same intimation that the man shouldn't be President because he can't control himself. But I doubt that.

We live in interesting times! Let us hope they don't get more and more interesting.

5. Oh, it's the spending...
I fucking hate this asshole. I love how all of the sudden he feebly pretends to know how to fix the economy. He talks out of his fucking ass and smiles the whole time. I'm praying he has a massive stroke, although he talks like he already has...

Excellent! A few more performances like this and he'll turn EVERYBODY off. What reason do people have to go to the polls when their candidate makes their collective stomachs ache?

71,000 a year and my federal income taxes have gone from 2 years ago from 326.00 per pay check to current 471.90 per pay check so what the fuck is this dipshit talking about lower taxes under the Bush Administration.

24. What happened to Roberts?
That was actually a decent interview. It seemed to me that he wanted to get all his questions in the alloted time and couldn't do many follow ups. That interview of http://seattletimes.nwsource.com/html/nationworld/2002216444_bush23.html">McCain is much better than most I've seen. This is probably just a fluke, but it would be great if the rest of the media interviewed like this.

28. "lower taxes under the Bush Administration."
It is a fact. The top 2% of wealthy Americans got lower taxes. McLame was against this until he started slobbering to be Pres.
