The MSM is in a flop sweat
What is about to hit them, will make the wake up call that was sent ABC after that democratic debate debacle a walk in the park.

The republicans have succeeded in their 20 plus year attempt to let corporations chew up any independent organizations and news outlets. We have our news spewed to us through three or four corporate groups.

But like the entrenched powers that be that were taken by "surprise" with the Dean 50 state strategy and the Obama "take it to the nets" organizations, a rude awakening is about to happen. The ability to organize via areas like DU etc, the netroots will make this a battle of the individual vs the corporate.

We have the ability to unionize as it were, in areas like this and get out and organize and get our guy elected. The over bloated and bloviating are so top heavy that they cannot research the way we do or get it out in the hands of the individual the way we can with U-T etc.

I do not think the truth of the situation has hit them yet. But it is about to. Time to scale those walls. This is not a cakewalk, but the numbers are on our side, as long we believe in ourselves!

1. More and more people simply aren't watching television any more
People realize that if they want news, the place to go is the Internet, because with a click of the mouse you can see a story covered from a variety of perspectives from many different parts of the world. I would daresay that there have also been inroads made in entertainment--you can see this when various sites put recently viewed shows online for viewing. And then there's the torrents and youtube offering even more variety. I haven't turned on my television in a long time--gave up cable and only have an antenna. Don't think I'll be getting a converter box next year, either--why bother? I can watch what I want when I want (often without commercials) right here on my laptop.

2. I don't watch TV news anymore ... why bother
I stopped about 4 months ago.
Joe Scarborough, Faux and the rest are all dirtbags.
And altho' I don't "watch" the news anymore, everyday, I read about news debacles ...
the most recent being Katie Couric and staff changing McCain's response to some questions.
For g*d's sake!
How STUPID do they think we are!!?

3. Either we find the courage to confront the corpocracy and its MSM,
or our descent into fascism is assured. I do not believe independent news outlets reach enough of the people and their message is too inconsistent to overcome the partisan mindset. We must follow the example set by our forefathers. Live free or die!

4. I think they know, they have to know as we do. However, there really is no way for them
to turn the bus around. They are a over-bloated corporation and may be in a tailspin. They are supposed to be a news organization but they are a corporation and "money" is their God and salvation. It is all about the money which is why a Nicole Smith story takes precedence over the really important things going on at the moment. In other words, you are right, I think we can win this battle and war in the end. Every day their credibility goes down a notch while more and more go to the internet for their news. You can read the London Times, blogs, etc and if you do you will find out you get more of the truth and pretty balanced coverage of an issue. They are so blatant in their attempts to spin an issue anymore. I especially remember the ABC debate where they were unbelievable in their attack on Barack who was debating Hillary. The CBS issue where they edited out McCaine's gaffe and then unbelievably put in their own answer for example.

5. I like your use of the term "unionize" in the context it was offered here (internet/grassroots).

6. I just finished watching the last part of of the ABC
round table.. and they were true to their new philosophy. Keep going right, like those little brown delivery trucks. Always going right.
