Yes, this is an unfounded and unfair slam against John Kerry. The real crime, however, is what this must be doing to the Vietnam veterans who have tried to put the war behind them...to the best of their abilities...and move forward in life.

It's politics. I'm sure Kerry expected a dirt fight, especially against a campaign orchestrated by Karl Rove and Karen Hughes. I'm also sure that he didn't fully comprehend how dirty things would get.

The Vietnam veterans have NOT had to deal with the war 24/7 in every form of media.

I feel bad for Kerry.

I feel worse for every other veteran of the Vietnam war.

5. The thing that pisses me off so much about this,

is the right-wingers' expectation for us to accept the Swift Vets' accounts as pure gospel, based purely on the fact that they're veterans. Why doesn't that rule apply for John Kerry? I am sick and tired of hearing these complaints about the SBVFT being silenced. They've had more than enough airtime. I support and respect completely the courageous service of all veterans, and these vets do deserve their say. They've had it, and frankly, their accounts do not pass the smell test, IMHO. The fact is, the conservatives want us to believe them without question, no matter what the facts bear out. Oh, BTW, the idea that these attacks aren't partisan is beyond absurd.
