great comparison: Bush issues page vs. Kerry's
http://www.pandagon.net/mtarchives/003237.html

John Kerry's site has an issues section <http://www.johnkerry.com/issues/>. Like any site focused on an upcoming election, it talks about what he will do and how he plans to do it. I do not know if all these things can happen, but I know he has a plan for the next four years.

George W. Bush's site has an issues section <http://georgewbush.com/Agenda/>. It has no actual proposals for any second-term policies. Not one. The closest any section comes is national security <http://georgewbush.com/NationalSecurity/>, which reprints a brief summary of a 2002 speech that declares we will do good stuff, at least 2/3 of which Bush has fundamentally failed at.

I am led to the only reasonable conclusion - Bush is going to drop out of the race soon and cede the presidency to Kerry. Why else would a sitting president have no idea what he'd do next year?

And it all fits - the incompetent campaign, the total lack of coherence between his statements from month to month, the refusal to be in New York for any length of time other than to give his speech <http://www.nytimes.com/2004/08/23/national/23letter.html?ex=1251000000&en=9bbbd6a9ee6b609f&ei=5088&partner=rssnyt>...a man who doesn't plan to govern has no need to make plans about governing!

1. Maybe it just shows his total incompetence.
I think you are indulging in wishful thinking.

Please don't take offense.

He probably does not have any idea what he is doing next year, because others plan that for him.

2. that was the point
the thing about Bush dropping out was a rhetorical thing I think. (this wasn't my writing, by the way, it was the Pandagon blog's).

But I disagree with his conclusion that it's incompetence. I think these people have a VERY well thought-out agenda, but they're just not telling us, because they know the American people aren't with them.

3. cheney will tell him after the election.
Actually he knows exactly what he'll do. He just doesn't dare tell anyone else yet.
