Obama: “I’m Not Afraid to Lose”

Tuesday, August 5th, 2008

The Senator and his wife http://www.essence.com/essence/lifestyle/voices/0,16109,1828363,00.html?xid=080408-Aug08Obama-TimeLink">talk to Essence Magazine for their September cover story.

Says it’s not possible to fully transcend race in the U.S., but predicts his election would change racial dynamics “to some degree.”

“If you’ve got Michelle as first lady, and Malia and Sasha running around on the South Lawn, that changes how America looks at itself.”

Also says he’s not afraid to lose the race because of his family:

“Our attitude was, it’s only worth it if we get out of this whole on the other end; if we haven’t given up who we are….”

1. What a man ~ my friend was introduced to him
and she described him this way, "When you are in his presence you are comfortable. He is a man of grace. "

3. Can't wait for that to hit the stands here
This and the infamous "All Black" issue of Italian Vogue. Sold out so fast Vogue is issuing its first reprint in its entire history.

It was the July issue so it should be in Australia by, oh... November. :)

7. That is a GREAT picture!
Good looking All American family! What a contrast between that and the Grumpy Old Man with his Trophy Wife - you know - The "traditional" American family!
