Kerry just gave a speech accusing Bush of running a smear and fear campaign. He called on Bush to debate him on the issues affecting Americans today. Will this speech have an affect on Bush? Comments welcome.

As the repubs said in the CNN article....they don't want this Switboat stuff in the headlines during the Repub convention. They want the spotlight on Bush* and his fearless leadership (sic).

They will halt until the convention is over and come back with a vengence.

Whenever anyone in the Bush camp (including Bush) is asked if he will debate Kerry, the response is, "We look forward to the debates." No one has ever answered the question with a definite "Yes."

+ He can't keep bringing up Vietnam. My 78 year old Dad is a solid middle of the road veteran, and every time Bush slags Kerry's record, he says, "well, we know where Bush was during the war..." <-- this is important: my Dad hasn't backed a losing Dem in his lifetime, and he's backing Kerry.
