Just saw a McCain ad that was an absolute lie!
I am not sure how campaigns', (this is an ad with McCain at the very end saying he approves of this ad) can get away with out right bald face lies.

The lie, that a family making 42,000 a year will have its taxes raised.

Is this the honest republican many of us defended against the Bush attacks in 2000?

I know negative ads supposedly work better than factual news. But even the most disconnected low information voter cannot actually fall for this can they?

I think who ever is giving McCain advice (this has to be the Rove operatives)is doing him a disservice. Which is okay by me!:)

2. Very true!
This was not even a shading of the truth. Just an outright lie. Geez, they really are a third Bush term. If this does not prove it, nothing will!

Privelaged upbringing, under achiever, using Daddy's connections, lack of curiosity (doesn't understand email or the internet) Hard partying past an age where its appropriate.

He's George W. Bush with a war record.

5. This one better be on the Obama team's number one debunking list.
You know how Americans are about their taxes. The Republicans are champs at using American's black and white thinking to push the idea that middle-class Americans will be taxed the same as the rich. I hope the Obama team is planning a swift rebuttal to that one. They need to be clarifying the tax plan every chance they get until every "moran" in the country understands it.

7. Your right...
I was just so taken back by it, and the obvious lie entailed in it. I know the truth of the Obama tax plan, and he has said it so many times, I am assuming the majority of Americans understand his fiscal policy. But, the republicans are champs at taking a lie, turning it around so people think it is the truth.

You know sometime I think Rove read 1984 and decided it was a good way to run a campaign. Up is down, down is up

10. We'd better believe it
Unfortunately, it's more happy thinking to believe that the "low information voter" is going to see through this crap. Rethugs have long since learned the Hitler/Goebbels theory that the bigger the lie, the easier it is to sell. This, combined with the mantra for years that the Democrats are "tax and spenders", and you've got Joe Sixpack's blood boiling with a blatant lie like this. Now is the time for Obama's team to start counter-punching fast and hard - we can no longer rely on his eventually dealing with it. For those of you who want to flame me for this, remember when we were all convincing ourselves that John Kerry didn't really have to fear the Swiftboat ad's impact, since he is such a great "closer". We all remember how well that worked...

16. John Sidney McCain III meant families that make 42K in capital gains, I guess.
Simple folk like him, with 7 homes, $520 shoes, a net worth of $40 million and a wife with $100 million of her own.
