Nader to rally supporters outside US conventions

WASHINGTON (AFP) — Supporters of independent White House hopeful Ralph Nader plan to demonstrate at the Republican and Democratic conventions to push for him to be included in the presidential debates.

"This rally will be part of a massive outpouring of protest in Denver and Minneapolis against the two corporate controlled parties and their policies of perpetual militarism and war," the campaign said in a press release on its website.

As many as 7,000 people are expected to attend the Denver rally set to be held on August 27, the campaign said.

It will coincide with the penultimate day of the Democratic Party convention to nominate Barack Obama as its presidential candidate.

A second rally will be held to coincide with the Republican convention at St Paul-Minneapolis on September 4. Senator John McCain is to be nominated by the party to be its standard-bearer in the November elections.

1. As many as 7000 people
or as few as 2. Nader really needs to go the hell away once and for all. He's already managed to mangle what could have been a pretty decent legacy with his egomaniacal posturing. Fortunately I think almost everyone is as sick of his idiocy as I am.

3. Does this man ever listen to himself--or does it piss himself off too much to do so?
Or put him to sleep?

6. All three of them???
Come on, the man has been a joke since 2004, the only ones that follow him are paranoids and people living in la-la land. Let him come, Howard Dean could pay for all their lunches by passing the hat around the convention and then loading them up in a minivan and taking them to McDonalds.
