If one person learned that McCain is anti-choice and Obama is a Christian
then this forum tonight was in no way a mistake. A lot of women have been operating under the assumption the "maverick McCain" was pro-choice. A lot of paranoid xenophobes have been calling Obama a Muslim. Hopefully this clears it up for good.

4. I so agree!
This forum was about 3 things....abortion, marriage and stem cell, but it was held in conservative religious setting...for conservative christians. All McCain did was "forcefully" tell them exactly what he thought they wanted to hear and they responded as they, of course would do. But, this was also a setting of the type of faith of the mega christian rather new age conservatism. True, Mccain was forceful...and he got the response that would be expected...since he said the right things. But this is a new age of the born agains and the mega church has a new message from the old. They still care about those three issues, but not in the way that their parents did...they care more about the following the words of Jesus...and that was exactly what Obama most certainly very much did connect with tonight. Wait a few days...and we will all be suprised at the turn this will take...especially with the young new age of christian conservatism. Actually, Obama was perfect.

5. K & R. I agree.
And while I also agree with David Gergen and Chuck Todd that tonight's forum should make the Obama campaign more aware that McCain might do better in the debates than they expected, I don't think finding that out is a bad thing -- and it was better to have it happen now, well before the debates, and with a smaller TV audience.

I hope a lot of the young evangelical voters I posted a topic about a while back were watching tonight. They're much more openminded than older evangelicals and I think they'd have been very impressed by Obama's answers.
