If his infidelities were so long ago that we should consider them ancient history then isnt his miltary status even more ancient ?

2. He was adulterous BECAUSE he was a POW.
Edited on Sun Aug-17-08 09:54 AM by sparosnare
This is his supporters' excuse as to why he cheated on and dumped his wife. The poor man was such a mess when he got home!

So now he's OK to be president????

5. How does being a POW make McFullofit a hero?
when it's more correct that he messed up and became detained
as enemy combatant... like any other prisoner of war.
If McCain is a hero for simply being a POW then all POW's are heroes.

6. Getting Shot Down and Taken Prisoner Is the Extent of McCain's Foreign Policy Experience
We should frame it that way.

Obama got more foreign policy experience in his recent trip to Europe
than McAin't has acquired in the 71 years he has been on the planet.

7. His records are hidden too.
I wonder what was in them that made him make sure they could never be read?

If I had nothing to hide I would want my "heroics" out there. Wouldn't you?

9. indeed.. the word hero has been totally trashed.
you don't get to be a hero for NOT DYING. and from what i hear, he is low on the scale for POWs. i call bullshit on mcPOW.

8. Interesting point you make...
McCain had complete control over his infidelities and how loyal he was with his wife.

However, he had no control over his POW situation.

Interesting that we're supposed to revere him and think of him as a courageous hero--for a situation
that he fell ass backward into. However, situations that were under his complete control--that were
of his doing--are somehow ignored.

I do think McCain deserves sympathy for what he endured as a POW. I feel for him. However, it's one
thing that happened to him and the voters need to look at the total human being--specifically the
aspects of his life of which he had control.

Some of those things indicate that he's a complete schmuck.

10. do you feel sympathy for Wehrmacht soldiers who invaded Poland, Russia, etc?
how is McCain any different than they were?

how is what we're doing in Iraq any different than what we did in Vietnam, or what the Germans did when they started WWII?

he's not a hero; he slaughtered innocent civilians

11. Friends of Mccain are trying to turn his POW status into a Get Out of Jail Free
card.

It's disgusting.
