It Has to be Biden
I've come, slowly but surely, to that conclusion.

We need an attack dog. Hillary is a good one, but there are too many drawbacks to that combo. We would have to give up any chance at NM, CO, VA, the south, and Iowa with no guarantee of holding on to Ohio or even having a shot at FL.

Biden may be the Washington Establishment in the flesh, but Obama said he would have people on his team that go across the spectrum. Biden knows what he talks about. He is good on foreign policy. He knows how to talk and command a stage. The only thing I would watch is that Biden may have the tendancy to out talk Obama. He would have to stay in the background, but in the background as an attack dog on Barack's chain ready to let lose at any moment.

It has to be Biden. I was for Clark, Webb, Kaine, or Schweitzer. But those possibilities aren't in the cards. It has to be Biden.

Peace out.

I'm sure he's been waiting for your decision.

29. I hope not but I respect your decision. I am still pissed over his
votes for the credit card companies and against bankruptcy. those were character moments for me and he failed. But to each his own. :)

12. Better to let Obama's pollsters know your thoughts on VP.
That's how the decisions are made.

6. Bill Clinton was all about change in 1992, didn't stop him from picking Sen. Gore
or for Carter's campaign in 1976 from picking Sen. Mondale.

having an old hand around as VP doesn't contradict a message of change --i've never bought into that argument.

35. Especially when the exact opposite argument is used againt Kaine
Namely that having two rookies on the ticket would lead to a dangerous level of inexperience in the WH.

11. BTW, Greenspan, the man, has fought wage increases for labor
for many years now. Don't know what critieria "Mrs" Greenspan is using. If it's anything like the "Mr" Greenspan I'd be highly skeptical what it couuld mean.

_____________________________________________________________________
"The labor cost index has been going up in fits and starts for a couple of years," notes TIME Wall Street correspondent Dan Kadlec. "That's something Greenspan watches very closely. He's been concerned for years that the low unemployment rates will lead to workers' demanding higher wages, and then prices will go up across the economy."

13. She just said what a lot of people have said.
Biden brings foreign policy experience and is a natural attack dog, who would win a vice presidential debate against anyone McCain might pick.

8. You present a good argument --
And others have equally impressive creds -- in different ways and degrees, but I think especially with the Georgia situation flaring up now, Biden would make the most sense on the ticket.

Although I'd rather see him as SOS, if he CAN help us win in November, that's what's of paramount importance.

19. Biden has been keeping an unusual low profile, particularly with Georgia attacking South Ossetia
Today his office announced that he is traveling to Georgia, as Chair of Foreign Relations Committee, to assess the situation.

Biden brings lots of gravitas to our ticket, plus he has good labor ties and was born in Scranton PA. Biden will do a great job as Veep.

21. Biden's personal story is really something too
commutes home to Delaware everynight.

he lost his wife and daughter in a car accident and had to be persuaded not to resign the Senate to care for his other injured children in the aftermath.

22. Biden would make a great VP but...
would also make a great SOS. Also Biden doesn't really directly impact any swing state. He could help in PA but I think Obama wins PA no matter what. I am leaning to Bayh now that Clark is probably out of the mix.

23. i'm an independent...and i would LOVE Biden.
he's been my #1 preference since February or so, when it became apparent (to most) that Obama was going to win.

yeah, he doesn't 'fit' w/ the change theme...but so what? the other meme - the more harmful meme - is the inexperience. Biden will help with that more than he would harm, IMO

plus? i REALLY apppreciate the fact that he always seems at any moment he will just look at his opponents and say "seriously, that is the STUPIDEST idea i have ever heard"

heh...i love that!

24. Here's what he said to the IAFF the other day
(he accepted their endorsement on behalf of Obama) -- He was hollering (as Biden is wont to do when he's passionate about something) and received several standing O's -- for telling it like it is, natch.

"Barack Obama respects you. You say ‘what the hell? Everybody respects us.' Wrong."

"Don't tell me (the Bush-Cheney) administration respects you. Don't tell me Barack Obama's opponent respects you. Don't take away my collective bargaining rights and tell me you respect me. Don't tell me you respect me,"

No phony niceties with Biden. He did it a few times during the debates, i.e. "I don't know what they're talking about" and then set the record straight.

27. What does Biden offer other than his foreign policy experience?
He screwed up during the Alito confirmation taking the time he had to talk about himself and his Princeton days. And, does anyone remember the Bankruptcy Bill? Biden sided with the credit card companies and this bill had been a big hardship on the middle class. He can't help by talk himself up and he has put his foot in his mouth many times. Oh, and his primary campaign for president didn't drum up to much enthusiastic support. Oh, and his idea for Iraq has been to divide the country into three separate countries and idea that no one considers plausible.

30. Have you ever listened to him talk about domestic issues?
He's familiar with all of them! He won't let an opponent get by with anything...unless a moderator shuts him up! He has the quickest mind of any Senator I know! That ability to snap back at a comment with a very common sense and understandable response is awesome!

Of all the debates we all watched, what's ONE of the comments everyone remembers? "Rudy? Everything he says is a noun, a verb, and 911!"

The guy would be a BIG ASSET to Barack and his administration!
