you know regarding Biden and how he possibly dosent fit into the CHANGE theme....
when Obamanator picks him of course the first thing to come out of everyones mouth will be neener neener change, biden = old washington... but biden isnt setting the policies and he DOES fit into OBamas theme of working across party lines to get things done more than anyone else. Biden is totally well respected in congress. People listen to him.
You can rest assured that the Obama team has come up with 50 rebuttals to the 'biden dosent equal change' storm that will come the first few days, rebuttals that will so profound that we will all be enlightened as to how Biden is PERFECT for Obama.

GOBIDEN!

1. The important question is change from what to what
People don't, or shouldn't, want change just for change's sake. Bush/Cheney was certainly a change from Clinton!

No matter who Obama picks for VP, his administration will change things in the correct direction overall.

3. This world is not Black or White and neither are people.
Obama talks about writing a new chapter not a new book.... some of the old people have to make appearances as the story transitions.

4. So Biden fits in well with the change theme, by not representing change?

You should work for a DLC campaign strategy firm.

EDIT: Seriously. That's absolute GENIUS.

5. One thing Biden brings, possibly more than anyone is he is an excellent attack dog
and that is one of the qualities that a vp candidate should have.

No matter who McSurge picks as vp, Biden will woop their behind in the vp debate.

6. Biden is I think 99th out of 100 in personal wealth for Senators.
Biden represents someone who hasn't gotten rich off of special interests.

When Biden speaks, he has that sort of common sense appeal that Regan Democrats will buy into. Plus he is Catholic. They are a key constituency this year.

8. It's a dicey area for Obama -
He's "Change" but if he brings in someone too new, he'll be nailed on the lack of experience theme twice as hard.

On the other hand, as we've seen here, many people feel someone with Biden's length of service negates the change platform.

Which way should Obama lean? It's a tough call.

That being said, I agree with horseface that if they do select Biden, they'll have to ammo all lined up to counter the "no change" concerns and attacks.

But you know the Obama people are prepared EITHER WAY.

These people are not winging it.

Their responses are already lined up.

10. "Biden is totally well respected in congress." Who in the Senate endorsed his presidential campaign?
You are right that Biden is not totally opposed to change: he was all in favor of changing the bankruptcy protections for middle class consumers in 2005. He has also been pretty open to changing his position back and forth on an exit strategy on Iraq.
