NBC's Andrea Mitchell Floats Idea McCain Cheated

By D. S. Hube (Bio | Archive)

Think John McCain did pretty well in last evening's Saddleback Civil Forum on Presidency hosted by the Rev. Rick Warren? You're not the only one. The Obama campaign thinks he did well too -- so good, in fact, that they think he might have cheated. And on this morning's "Meet the Press," Andrea Mitchell wasted no time floating the Obama campaign's "private" concern:

1. Andrea Mitchell has really surprised me as of late.
Ever since Obama's trip to Europe, she's been far better on him than in the past.

Hope it continues.

11. That's because she knows McCain's campaign is lying...
...she doesn't trust it anymore.

I think she is really REALLY, REALLY surprised by this. Live and learn.

16. 'Bad Andrea' gets tired sometimes and 'good Andrea' gets to come out an play.

However later at night good Andrea gets a real spanking by the boys at the Fed.

18. I agree...
The right wing lie about Obama not visiting the wounded troops in Germany because he couldn't bring a camera really pissed her off. She was there and knew the truth, she explained it over and over, and yet the lie kept spreading. Since then, I've noticed a difference in her analysis as well.

3. I thought of Meatballs.
Tripper: And even if we win, if we win, HAH! Even if we win! Even if we play so far above our heads that our noses bleed for a week to ten days; even if God in Heaven above comes down and points his hand at our side of the field; even if every man woman and child held hands together and prayed for us to win, it just wouldn't matter because all the really good looking girls would still go out with the guys from Mohawk because they've got all the money! It just doesn't matter if we win or we lose. IT JUST DOESN'T MATTER!
Rest of group: IT JUST DOESN'T MATTER! IT JUST DOESN'T MATTER...

4. I read the transcript portions that showed McCrazy was anticipating
the questions. Why would Warren make remarks about McCheater answering "so quickly" and "playing poker"?

I think she knows a winner when she's with him for a while. Andrea may very well be laying down a nice pathway to being Obama's press sec. She doesn't need the money, it would give her great exposure and she would be in the "middle of the action." I could live with it, of course I'm wearing tinfoil right now but I have noticed her subtle swing to Obama. After Obama wins this, the RWrs will have nothing to do but pick at him and criticize. I don't think she's interested in that.. Whatcha think???

10. I also noticed how quickly he came from around...
backstage as soon as Obama was done.. If he were in some sound proof room he wouldn't have been out there that quickly..

13. Right off the top when they said they flipped a coin and Obama was first,
I was suspicious and uneasy. McCain's 'performance' did nothing to dissuade my suspicions. I wish Barack had gone second. It'll be interesting to see what else comes out about this.

14. What I found unsettling was
that the day before I KNOW that I CNN/MSNBC announced that McSHAME was going first and Obama second! Then the day of the *event* it's all different and Obama is all of sudden going first. Yeah they claimed a coin toss but why was it different from the day before??? :yoiks:
