GLBT Pridefest Voter Registration/Volunteer sign up today

Volunteered for the Obama campaign's table at the annual Pridefest in my town today. Lots of people. We registered over 50 new voters and signed up over 75 volunteers. Lots of excitement about Obama by most people. We went through two rolls of Obama Pride stickers and there were Obama stickers on the vast majority of people at the festival. We had a former Hillary volunteer who now volunteers for Obama on hand to talk to people who were on the fence between voting for Obama and writing Hillary's name in. For all those attacking Hillary Supporters on here this woman is awesome and she is really committed to the campaign. She's amazing and convinced most people and ended up actually signing up one or two up for volunteering. Obama better not pick Sam Nunn as VP or he will alienate that entire community. Had several comments that people were angry that Obama hadn't denounced his support outright. It was difficult to explain but I tried my best.

There were a couple fundies outside of the event with signs screaming at people as they went in. The festival had people with Umbrellas to block people from walking in. On a positive not I asked them if they were registered and they said they weren't because they believed both candidates stood a good chance of being the Anti-Christ. That made me laugh. The people with the Umbrellas asked me not to talk to them because they don't want anyone to engage them so I kindly obliged instead of getting into a theological debate with them.

2. They are firmly in Obama's column as long as he keeps Nunn

of the ticket. People loved the Pride Stickers. The stickers the campaign creates for individual events is great. It makes people feel they matter that Obama has a design for their community.
