Does anyone have a link on the McCain baptism story?
I'm reading he was not baptized? Is that true?

How juicy if it is true.

Has his campaign insisted he was baptized, or conceded he wasn't?

5. Which 'wing'
of the Baptist does he belong? Not all Baptists require a member to be re-baptized.

7. The "wing" the North Phoenix Baptist Church is part of....
"While McCain, 71, describes Yeary as his family pastor, Yeary said the senator -- who was christened an Episcopalian -- isn't a full member of his church because he has never undergone the adult baptism that membership requires."

8. They call it "Baptist" for a reason.....
The Baptist church is one of the oldest Christian denominations in America. The term refers to Baptists' belief that the devotee should be baptized publicly as an adult. Despite this difference in religious ritual, Baptists share many other essential beliefs of Christianity.

Although adult baptism is the main theological difference between Baptist and other denominations of Christianity, the style of Baptist services and prayer differs considerably from other Christian forms of worship. Check the Independent Baptist Directory for a list of churches to visit.

Get baptized. After you have accepted Jesus and become part of a Baptist congregation, getting baptized in public is the final threshold to becoming a Baptist. Many people organize the baptism as a special ceremony that marks a turning point in their lives. Ask a minister to walk you through the process of baptism.

12. Like McCain,
I was baptized as an infant in the Episcopal church. Raised and confirmed Lutheran and later married in the methodist church. Last year, I did join my local Baptist church an NO I was not baptized a second time.

However, I do know that most adults do opt for the public confirmation of faith.

11. Thank you.
What a strange piece of news this is.

I'm impressed that it's unfolding now, too -- right after the Warren event yesterday night.

10. LOL! They might want to call in Bobby Jindal as a stand-by.
Hard to tell if it's a baptism or an exorcism McCain most needs!
