Newsflash! Much of the pro-Hillary VP sentiment here is from Obama primary supporters
and many supporters of Sen. Clinton during the primary prefer other candidates for Vice President, for a variety of reasons, myself included.

To push the asinine idea that the apparent increase in support for Hillary as Veep at DU is a movement begat by primary supporters is utterly and completely bogus, and in and of itself, is designed to continue the division and the primary wars.

We are not a monolithic herd of animals here at DU. We all supported varying candidates during the primary, switching as they went down to defeat, and we all have competing, interesting ideas as to whom would make a good Veep.

It is, in the end, Obama's choice. There is no harm in speculating on it, but there is harm in pretending that a small DU surge in support for Hillary as Veep has anything to do with her primary supporters, when the reality shows that it doesn't.

Thanks for posting this. I had done a post two weeks ago listing reasons why I support Hillary for VP. I have always been an Obama supporter and BIG Hillary critic.... but after I did that post I got several angry mailings from people on DU taking me to task and asking if I wanted to get TS'd. O_o

7. good post
yeah, I wrote the other day that I said something decent about the clintons and boy, was I taken down. I was a HC supporter, now fully Obama, and I want Clark for VP. I hate all the bs on here about HC and Bill and I hate that the most innocuous comment will be attacked. WTF? It's a real shame and anyone doing it might as well wrap up a gift and send it to fuc*ing McCain. Bill Clinton is a huge icon in this party. Show some party unity and dignity, for god's sake. I don't read all the crap in msm about what the clintons are up to now and how they are ruining the world.

I figure we saw them vetted through 8 years of having the repukes frothing at the mouth to get rid of one of our best leaders -- and all they got on him was a blow job and some minor stuff that disappeared-- and we know how long and hard they looked. what we got was a booming fuc*iing economy, a balanced budget for the first time in years!, and a great international reputation.

they hate the clintons because the clintons have POWER. the Clintons are second to the Kennedy's in terms of iconic power in the party -- like it or not. so, yeah, knock our own people down. great strategy! now, when we need them the most. it's make it or break it time -- if we don't win this election, democracy is over here.

it just drives me nuts how easily manipulated people can be by msm. yes, yes, hurt YOUR own icon. that's right...he's out to get you! now, don't look now, but you read that where? written by whom? and their agenda was what?

9. Great points you mention. The MSM is driving the message for this election cycle
like they have in the past. It is to their advantage to portray division among the Democrats right now since anything controversial increases their audience. It is really disappointing to see so many here passing along the "anonymous sources" and "some say" reports that do nothing but cause more division among us.

11. thanks --will it ever stop?
honestly, it is as silly as the repugs voting for mccone because msm told them so.

as if msm doesn't have a stake in creating drama? that's all they got since they basically (for all intents and purposes) went live 24/7. if you had to try to be interesting 24 hours a day, guess what, you would suck too:-)

the more they hate someone in our own party, the more you gotta wonder what that person has that they want to destroy. no one bothers to talk badly about a non-entity. Oh well -- at least they have a front of unity. We look like children on a playground, and in REALITY

guess who's got real problems? McCain and Bush, that's who. And we all know why, but do you ever hear about it? Noooo -- cuz they're so busy getting us to chase our tails around the Clintons....Meanwhile, back at Crawford Cone Ranch of Morans, Bushie is cutting down Coneheads's adopted daughter and saying conehead had sex with all of these african american women and has african bastards all over the us.

but by all means, keep talking about the horrid clintons. like sheep. Never looking where they don't want you to look.

I thought we were better than this!

13. I believe any DLCer will be a bad omen for a President Obama. These crooks
in power will stop at nothing to remain in power and work against those who stand up to them. Look who put the Clintons into the national spotlight in the first place-JACKSON STEPHENS! Please...Hillary supporters and advocates do your homework. Bill delivered big time for the GOP-the telecom act of '96 alone helped limit fair representation in the media. He buried BCCI and Iran Contra scandal protecting the Bush which enabled W to even have a chance to advance.

the pukes would love a second President Clinton and I'm afraid making her VP will end very badly-except for them.

Edited on Thu Aug-21-08 10:16 AM by tokenlib
Now that the media has narrowed it down to Biden and others---we are comparing them to Hillary and so the surge of Hillary support. Depending on the polls--Obama might have to consider Hillary right up to the last minute---so it's like a protest vote against Biden and crew.

19. there is a large group of Obama supporters here
whose support for Obama is rooted in a hatred of Hillary (and Bill) Clinton.

These people, in the long run, do far more to harm Obama than help him.

and gone the extra mile to do a damn thing to help Obama get elected.

It's just pathetic that the Hillbots here can't accept the will of the people - Obama won.
He's the nominee.
That's all there is to it.

I've been an Obama supporter as long as anyone and was as critical of Hillary during the primaries as (just about) anyone else still here. That being said, I'm all on board and hoping for an Obama-Hillary ticket...in a big way. Let's have it! Give the people what they want!

Did you just make that up, or can you document your claim.

Who did you support in the Primaries?
