which media whore will be first to defend McCain's "houses" gaffe?
who will be the first to explain to us how this really won't hurt McCain, or that even will hurt Obama if he attacks to hard.

and how will they do it?

My guess is David Broder, but I can't imagine how he'll do it...

7. That gets my vote. How dare we question the right of the rich to own homes?
Don't we peons realize that a rising tide lifts all boats and John's houses will trickle down to us, kind of like pee down our pant leg?

25. Exactly
I think it will be Hannity as he sits there and lets his buddy Colmes kiss and worship his hands in their continuing love affair with each other. The Hannity will tell Colmes to go get him a cup of coffee and Colmes will say, "who died and made you queen?

4. somebody will be snortin' Cokie for sure.
I'd say Broder is a good choice, or Cokie Roberts, she's pretty inane. I did coin that term after her for a reason.

9. Nobody in their right mind could even try to defend this.
That leaves all of FOX News and certain parties on CNN and MSNBC I guess.

Seriously, who the hell would try to spin this as a positive? It's impossible.

11. Just had a look on Freak Republic to see what their defense was
The best they could come up with was "57 states", as if there's no difference beteen a simple slip of the tongue and a remark that shows McCain for the arrogant, out-of-touch elitist that he is.

13. There is currently a workshop for talking points
http://freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/2065421/posts

The one I figure the pricks will pick up on:

“The senator owns 5 or 6 homes, not including the time share at the Hanoi Hilton, which he hasn’t used in years.”

19. I've heard TV pundits say Americans like rich people so his wealth is okay.
He's only 8th out of 100 in the Senate.

So if he keeps wearing his windbreaker and saying "My Friends" maybe he can keep passing for middle class? Or they can all pretend the Son & Grandson of Admirals, one of the Keating Five, pal of Phil (Enron loophole) Gramm, wasn't a Country Club Conservative rich guy until he married Cindy.

John McCain (R-Ariz) - 2006

*
Net Worth: From $27,817,187 to $45,045,011
Ranks 8th among all members
of the Senate
*
Assets: 139 totaling $33,632,190 to $49,435,021
*
Liabilities: 11 totaling $4,390,010 to $5,815,003

CINDY: http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2008/04/03/cindy-mccains-fortune-pro_n_94833.html
As heiress to her father's stake in Hensley & Co. of Phoenix, Cindy McCain is an executive whose worth may exceed $100 million. Her beer earnings have afforded the GOP presidential nominee a wealthy lifestyle with a private jet and vacation homes at his disposal, and her connections helped him launch his political career -- even if the millions remain in her name alone.

Yet the arm's-length distance between McCain and his wife's assets also has helped shield him from conflict-of-interest problems.

Biden is 108th, which is interesting because the Senate has 100 members.
