McSame to Choose Quitter for VP Running Mate (McSame/Portman)
Edited on Thu Aug-21-08 11:46 AM by Khaotic

According to Hinessight, McSame is going to choose Former Ohio Congressman Rob Portman as his running mate.

Portman is a Bush Administration hack who couldn't hack it ... quitting his appointed position as the Director of the White House Office of Management and Budget (OMB) on June 19, 2007. Portman "resigned" his position of OMB director, citing personal reasons and a desire to spend more time with his family and three children. He was replaced by former Iowa Congressman and failed gubernatorial candidate Jim Nussle. Nussle lost his bid for Iowa governor to Chet Culver who is doing an excellent job as Iowa's current governor.

From Hinessight ( http://www.hinessight.com/robportman.html ), McSame will hold a huge rally in Ohio on August 29, the day after Barack Obama accepts his party's nomination, and will announce his VP pick (on the 3rd anniversary of sharing cake w/ Shrub when the Commander and Thief should have been providing leadership in the wake of Hurricane Katrina).

The rally will be held in the Cincinnati-Dayton metroplex, which is an Ohio version of Dallas-Fort Worth. The two conservative cities have traditionally tilted Ohio to the GOP. Because it's in Ohio, and in the metroplex, chances are very good that McCain has picked former Cincinnati Congressman Rob Portman.

Political circles in Cincinnati, notes HinesSight sister site CincinnatiNation, say Portman is John McCain's vice president running mate.

The attraction of Rob "the quitter" Portman?

(From CNBC http://www.cnbc.com/id/26296313 )

<snip>
Portman is a former Republican House member who served as President Bush’s special trade representative, and also served in the Bush Administration as the Director of the Office of Management and Budget. He is a strong conservative. He is a tax-cutting supply-sider who is a strong foe of earmarks and other budget pork.

As OMB director he talked the president into the first veto of Bush's entire administration.

Portman has good international experience as trade rep, where he was a strong free-trader, traveling the world and meeting international leaders. Portman is also a social conservative with a pro-life record. He is well spoken, a good debater, and an attractive personality.

I am certain Portman is also for drill, drill, drill.
<snip>

His wiki entry is at: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rob_Portman

One of the other high points for Portman not underscored yet ... he wears a flag pin and thinks he looks stylish in an orange tie.

4. Come now ...
Natalie was for Hillary and it's not like Hillary ever said anything good about McSame ... right?

Too bad it's not Natalie Portman ... it would give us something to look at when the MSM follows the McSame campaign.

Natalie does look good.
