32. Oh, how well I realize that too..

it's always been the case.. most people don't realize that they use a "symbol system" to THINK. I've studied Joseph Campbell, among others, anthropology along with my art degree, worked as a bartender, and in two insane asylums.. lived many lives, and seen the impact of psyops as perpetrated on the public daily by Corporations selling STUFF.

I actually won a Hollywood award for an animation I created in 2000, beating out over 640 other animators worldwide, with my Flash animation online called, "Symbolman: Boy Meets Girl" using only international symbols to tell a story..

I "wrote" a book using only international symbols (the animation was based on that), called "Symbolman" in 1986 and used to sit in coffee houses in Seattle and show strangers the work, saying, "I wrote a book without words.." they'd all nod and say, "Uh..SURE You did.." :)

But then they'd actually gather and puzzle over the series of symbols that glide past on each page, and come to the same conclusion, that it was a real story with NO words...

One person dubbed it, "Visual Esperanto", and some day I guess I should publish that sucker as an "Art" book I guess. But I spent a lot of time thinking about what humans respond to, and HOW they think, and came up with that particular work.

You are so right, and most times, between symbols and music they have no idea WHY they march off to war.. but WE do..

47. Definitely a fan of using symbolism to invoke a feeling of mistrust

or to get the message across.

Somewhat related - I remember reading an article about how it is far more effective ( and contagious) to express that you have a "creepy feeling" or sense of mistrust of someone ("I just don't trust that guy...") than it is to list a bunch of examples about why that person was a bad egg.

So if true, we'd do well to use images that portray the creepy or corrupt or forgetful (or other bad characteristic here) imagery of McCain, or to use testimonials that suggest that McCain gives the speaker a "bad feeling".


Back to the topic: A negative image that I'd like to see someone (with artistic or graphic talent) use to define John McCain, is McCain as the "Crooked Man" - as in the nursery rhyme

Here's the original -

There was a crooked man and he walked a crooked mile,
He found a crooked sixpence upon a crooked stile.
He bought a crooked cat, which caught a crooked mouse.
And they all lived together in a little crooked house

The above should be reworded by a clever person to reflect his crooked finances, crooked Keating deal, 7 crooked houses, his crooked jets (he crashed), how he left his first "crooked" (smashed-up) wife, he has a crooked soul, crooked career, crooked smile. His whole crooked history - you get the idea.

And here is one artist's interpretation of a crooked man (I'd like to see something like it more sinister, without the cat, with McCain's face, underneath a brutally critical poem):

There are even buttons for sale online with this photo. Would it be too difficult to take this famous mCcain hug photo and manipulate it in such a way as to have mCcain hugging other people instead of bush? For instance: a Saudi Oil sheik, Benito Mussolini, a shady looking lobbyist, Benedict Arnold, King George III, a Blackwater soldier, Darth Vader, The Ice Queen of Narnia, an Aghani-poppy grower, Mr. Burns from the Simpsons and etc.
