Michelle Obama made me cry.
Funny how uplifting speeches can do that. :)

Did anyone notice the camera operators seemed to be *trying* to find people who looked bored? One example I remember is one time when they zoomed in on a guy who seemed to be sleeping, but he was only checking his watch or blackberry or something then snapped right back to attention... at which point the camera quickly cut away.

Anyway... I thought it was a great speech. And I loved seeing her and her daughters up on stage talking to Obama... that was very nice. :)

2. Well, I saw several shots of people crying at the convention
both during and after her speech. Was watching on C-Span so I may have had different camera views.

7. I was watching C-Span too... the replay late last night.
Maybe I wasn't paying close enough attention... I only saw one or two shots of people crying.

4. Michelle made a lot of people cry. I saw white women...yes that demographic
that the pundits say won't vote for Obama...I saw *them* crying last night. Michelle is a phenomenal woman!! I believe that she is an asset, one that may help bring those Hillary supporters onboard.

8. Did you see the Hillary supporter that was interviewed?
She was wiping tears away and saying how much that whole section loved the speech... and then she kindly pointed out that they were Clinton delegates. :D

16. That's wonderful news! The only way that I personal can start to heal and forgive
the Clintons is if their supporters come aboard. If they support the nominee, I'm cool with that and we can start this healing process and finally unite as a party. However, as long as the Clinton machine continues to fan the flames of dissent, as Ed Rendell and Carville, insist on doing, then there's little hope for the party. I'm just saying. It is incumbent on the Clintons and their surrogates to whip the party in line.

6. She made me cry as well -
and so did her mother narrating the video, her brother, Caroline Kennedy, Ted Kennedy, and Jesse Jackson, Jr. Damn - I'm all filled with that hope stuff!! I watched the Convention with friends who are not American and THEY had tears flowing - I felt really, really proud.

10. I didn't see any of that...
I did catch a few minutes of the video... but not all of it.

So glad you were able to watch it with others and share that experience.

14. CNN (Intn'l) here
carried Convention coverage and other than wolf, et al, spewing stupidity, it was GREAT!! As it was carried live, we watched from 11 p.m. to 4 a.m. We all did agree that someone should really shove that magic map of John King's straight up his arse, though :)

12. Me too
And I gotta tell you, she and her brother look a lot alike. It is obvious that they are brother and sister and that they are good people. If the Oregon State basketball program ever gets in trouble, I doubt if it will be on Robinson's watch. And those girls are sweeties. The oldest girl will be a stunning beauty in a few more years. Hope she can fend off the boys. With Barack and Michelle for parents, she should be all right.
If that was an angry speech, as the RW tries to portray her, I sure can't imagine what a sweet, nice speech would sound like.

17. me too.. and with the tears came a feeling
I haven't ever experienced before... that we are fortunate to be living in such a time as this.
As much as these years have been filled with so much crap.. shame... division...it is all part of the journey, and we're approaching an awesome crossroad.

This ailing, tired, low class, white, single mom wept watching history I thought I'd never live to see, coming true.

:hi:

Michelle spoke with grace and beauty.
