Without proper context, we cannot evaluate Bill Clinton's comment

I've been as pissed at the Big Dawg this election season as anyone..... but the latest kerfluffle doesn't mean a damn thing unless and until we have a context.

Who is candidate X and Y in his hypothetical scenario? What was said immediately prior? Was this an answer to a question? What was the question?

I'm giving the Big Dawg the benefit of the doubt here... though, admittedly, he's not been the best team player so far.

Calm down, folks.

1. He should know better than to walk down that road.
Regardless of what he "meant". Its was a stupid thing to say.

5. Maybe if we all stop giving any attention to what comes out of Bill's blowhole,
we'll all be happier and get along better.

7. Agreed. Especially since he immediately clarified his comments.
As far as I'm concerned, this was a hit piece on Bill with the added "bonus" of maybe dividing dems.

The only judgment I can make is that the reporter is an asshole.

9. Are you hallucinating?
This is DU, the Clinton's aren't allowed to have the benefit of the doubt. It doesn't matter what they say, they are always wrong.

13. GOTTA HAVE FIVE MORE THREADS ON BILL !!!
I was upset to read his comments but why on earth can't DU posters just scan the threads and join an existing one to voice the same indignation that the three other posters already expressed?

I guess it is easier to start a new post. Saves them 15 seconds !!

14. Fuck him - They should not even let him into the convention let alone speak
All he has done is bash Obama and now that the primaries are over he's still at it, not once has he said anything half way decent about him and he's still at it today! What makes anyone think he will do anything other than fuck the party over tonight?

16. Loose lips sink ships, and Bill is no fool.
Edited on Tue Aug-26-08 02:12 PM by TexasObserver
Any time Bill says something this is off message, he meant to.

Any time Bill says something that can be read negatively, he meant to.

If he were trying to be on his good behavior, you would not hear one word from him that was not positive. He's single handedly destroying his own legacy with this cheap, cheesy slime of his. We should have insisted he resign in 1999. Then we would have had Gore as president, and would have been spared the past 8 years.
