2. Surprised me. I thought he was on there to give RW talking
points but it was the opposite. He talked about the gap between the rich and the poor in this country and how we need to change it. Blitzer showed him how his taxes might go up if he makes over 2.9 million a year and his response was that if you are rich in this country you are probably always going to be rich and paying your fair share is part of the deal.

Go Barkley!

12. I heard him on ESPN radio a while back say something to that effect
I believe it was on Dan Patrick's old show before he left ESPN. They had Sir Charles on and they were talking about him possibly running for Governor of Alabama and the topic of party came up. Chuck did say he was opposed to the war and Katrina made him leave any affiliation with the GOP behind. They didn't go much beyond that, but it was an eye-opener.

Chucks pretty good on the issues too, not sure why he ever called himself a Republican.

17. Eh it's the easy way out
You call yourself a Republican and
a. you get questioned on nothing
b. you automatically (see a.) get security and "law and order" cred

"law and order" btw is code for arresting black people.

11. Why did they show him in front of militant Black Muslims in the leadup?
It had nothing to do with anything? They said in the lead-up he would be OUTSPOKEN! And they showed "scary black men".

They are really vile, transparent scumbags running CNN.

19. CNN is running an orhestrated campaign against Obama
Edited on Tue Aug-26-08 04:06 PM by harun
They keep showing McCain's negative ads as news pieces so McCain doesn't have to pay anything to get airtime. It's disgusting.

13. I remember seeing him on a late night show once (can't remember which one)
saying how much he loved Bill Clinton! This was years ago, but I presume that still holds. It made me like Charles Barkley.

14. I remember him being on CNN months ago
and he was talking about how the religious right consisted of a lot of hypocritical, judgemental people, and Wolf Blitzer started getting really scared, and Barkley said "I don't care, they can't come after me!"
