1. To pay only minimum wage as opposed to... living wage? To whom? (n/t)

4. He wants to pay state workers FEDERAL minimum wage ($6) rather than CA minimum ($8)
" Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger plans to sign an executive order next week that will reduce pay for more than 200,000 state workers to the federal minimum wage of $6.55 per hour to preserve cash in the midst of a month-long budget standoff, according to a draft copy of the order obtained by The Bee.

Administration officials said the governor expects to take the action Monday."

7. Wow. Holy hell. Balance the state budget on the backs of people who are least
able to absorb the blow. Great job, Schwarzenegger. :grr:

3. I hope he makes Arnold sue to pay state workers minimum wage
Edited on Tue Aug-26-08 06:02 PM by Gman
that will play wonderfully when Arnold runs for reelection.. He sued to reduce pay to minimum wage. If Arnold doesn't sue he looks weak. It's a no win for Arnold.

6. John Chang is awesome
I heard him speak when he was running for election in a back yard fundraiser. It wouldn't surprise me at all to see him California governor one day. Oh no, wait, he should replace Feinstein.
