Edited on Wed Aug-27-08 07:17 PM by Kurt_and_Hunter
I'm going with 23 minutes. Hell, just the applause between the lines will push ten minutes.

If he did everything the pundits have said he "needs to do" it would take a few hours.

I assume Bill was given "ten minutes" at 9 PM just to make sure he finishes before Biden's slot at 10:30.

(I'm a Bill fan, not a detractor.)

On Edit: Since posting this the first previews have come out, and my opening line of 23 is off the boards! Sounds like a barn-burner in the works.

(I wonder who's getting bumped? Biden HAS TO speak at 10:30 sharp. (Network TV time-slot)

6. 10 minutes!
No chance. Bill likes to talk, Joe likes to talk, this thing may not end until dawn. And I bet both of them will shred McCain.

15. Why not?
That'd be sort of cool. Kind of like when SRV, Clapton, Cray, and Mr. Buddy Guy did an all star jam at Alpine Valley at what turned out to be SRV's last gig.

14. It better not be 10 mins
or it won't be very helpful. He's got some points that he needs to hit and Bubba can only boost of damage our chances. I see little room for anything else and 10 mins. of Bill means he isn't interested in talking.

17. 40 minutes
Bill ran way over back in 1988 when he was an obscure governor delivering a nominating speech for Dukakis. After eight years as president and eight more as uberbubba without portfolio, there's no way he's going to shut up in less than 40 minutes.

Which means that John Kerry is going to have to act like that guy in the old Fed Ex ads.

22. Can't wait for the Grecian stage theatrics tomorrow---
Obama is going to rise from the stage amidst the cheering crowd.

Please tell me this is not what the Democratic Party has come to.

I wish the Democratic "leadership" had just passed on the primary and appointed their chosen candidate. Would
have saved time and money for those who thought it was a fair contest, and wouldn't have pissed off so
many people.

If the reason one is supposed to vote for Obama is his good judgement, what is this need for crowd adulation? The Republicans will have a field day with his acceptance in such a Vegas moment. This is over
the top!

24. What degree of revelence does this diatribe have with the subject of this thread?
Edited on Wed Aug-27-08 10:03 PM by 4themind
What source do you have for the 'rising out of the stage' comment (seemingly stated as fact)? Do you agree with the McCain framing of him as more "celebrity" than president? If so(and if that I was your motivation here), I find the fact that relatively non supportive comments like these would permitted in this forum as lamentable. Now to steer things back to the topic, I definitely thought the big Dawg would take more time and was glad that he did, heck the ovation may have taken up 10 minutes alone!(although I wasn't timing it with a stop watch)
