And he completely misrepresented Jim Webb's arguments in A Time To Fight as being a singular problem that the Democratic party has, without of course mentioning how Webb has railed against the Republican party's use of the military. And he said "in fact, he just repeated this yesterday." THAT'S BECAUSE YOU FORCED HIM TOO! I saw that segment yesterday, and Tom Brokaw had that quote READY from Jim Webb's book to trap him with..Jim Webb reiterated it, but it's use by Brokaw was solely to use against Democrats. "This is a problem that the Democrats still have to deal with." And of course, you little asshole, Republicans don't have to answer for never GETTING OVER VIETNAM and admitting that it was a colossal waste of time.

First, http://mediamatters.org/items/200808270012">this - Brokaw spreads the Bill Clinton's "Candidate X" misquote which immediately became a Guiliani talking point.

Then, after Clinton gives a speech that John McCain couldn't give on the best fucking day of his life, Brokaw mumbles his way through some major buzzkill about the speech being nothing special and then brings up the POW vs. draft dodger chestnut. This is rich since Brokaw himself never served in the military.

Brokaw has become a pompous scold in his dotage - a self-appointed representative of the "Greatest Generation" - with an acute warrior fetish. An aging chicken hawk who came from the "Lamest Generation" - the pre-boomer bobby soxers who listened to Pat Boone and never questioned racism, sexism or war.
