the thing I loved about Bill's speech

(1) he talked very specifically about why Barack Obama is poised to be our next president. Not empty praise, not we just need to get a Democrat in office... he actually talked about Obama's very specific strengths and matched them with what our country needs right now (to date, neither Bill or Hillary have done this so well)

(2) he compared his own candidacy with Obama's. It's been bugging the crap out of me to hear them say over and over again that Obama doesn't have the experience when Bill was 46 when he was elected and was also accused of being too inexperienced and too young

(3) he had a nice balance of positive praise for Obama and digs at McCain and the Republicans.

1. (2) was the highlight for me and the most telling that Bill meant it, IMO.

The whole speech was great (except I didn't like the praise for McCain--don't like it when Barack does it either though) and WELL exceeded my highest expectations.

But comparing his own candidacy to Barack's was (remember this is Bill, no slight intended) the highest praise he could heap on Barack and the one that seemed the most meaningful. Then again, I thought the entire speech and endorsement was genuine and couldn't have been better.
