1. John was great at attacking, Joe was great at relating to economic hardships

3. I don't get the fixation on John
I'm sure he's a great guy. But he's a national campaign loser from a small (but great!) state. He's a VERY good debater, but an ordinary platform speaker.

Big Bill could run for Prez tomorrow. What a talent. Reminds me why I fell in love with the Big Dog back in 1992. Barack gives me the same buzz, by the way. But not John. No juice, man.

14. Anyone could have given Kerry's speech
Seriously, virtually anyone. Just grab the attack points, get angry and fire.

Biden's speech was impressive but he was somewhat nervous and got quick approaching the punch lines. I'm not worried about that. Biden will be a star on the campaign trail. That will be one of the underlying themes of the fall, memorable lines and themes from Biden.

Bill Clinton is ultra talented. That's the separator. The high percentage for Kerry in this poll is predictable and also a farce. There percentage of competent historians or speech writers who would look at those two speeches and give the nod to John Kerry is bordering on nil.

16. I think there's another perspective to consider.
I think those who are applauding Kerry's speech think it's better than any he gave 4 years ago.

When you have relatively little to lose, and aren't so worried about the sound bites you might make by mistake, there is a lot more luxury to say things with the gloves off.

I loved Kerry's speech. But I still give Beau Biden the gold medal.

John Kerry was fabulous at attacking McCain/Bush; Bill was fabulous at rallying his fellow Dems.

7. Senator John Kerry wins hands down and Kucinich won yesterday!
Edited on Thu Aug-28-08 01:09 AM by Breeze54
You should have used last names in your poll... to vague, imo.

8. This was even harder than yesterday.
At least then I was able to make a choice (Clinton, ultimately... she edged out Schweitzer and Kucinich.) Today, given Kerry's forcefulness, Biden's colorful verbosity, and the Quote Machine That Was Bill Clinton, I have to say they all rocked!

10. Kerry, followed by Clinton and Biden
That's the best speech I've ever heard from Kerry; he was more relaxed tonight than in 2004, which is understandable.

Clinton put on a clinic on how to pace a speech and draw you in w/ something as simple as a pause.

Biden had the unenviable task of following a series of brilliant speeches this convention; it was a solid, table-setting speech that will be the introduction to some serious filleting on McCain and whoever his VP choice is.

This has probably been the best series of speeches in a Convention since the 1984 DNC convention w/ Mario Cuomo and Jessie Jackson.

11. All were a knock out, I voted john then Bill ......
Both Kerry and Biden had me emotionally attached
to their speeches, where I was crying, Bill didn't but I
was in awe of one of his best speeches ever that was needed.
It beat the shit of his speech in 2004 convention.

Joe brought me to tears, each was what should have been said
Joe's speech was an introduction to America on who and what he is
and was needed for America.

Bill and John are known by America, Joe is not so he had
to spend time defining himself and the others didn't

Grade wise...... Bill A+........ John A+... Joe A-

Wexler really disappointed me....... C=

I haven't seen Bill's yet but it sounds like it was a good one. Kerry rocked!
