to my surprise, I'd have to say Kerry gave the speech of the night. Where was this guy four years ago?

Bill was great of course, but that's no surprise. What he understands that so few public speakers do is: have a conversation; don't harangue.

1. He was there. The media hid him and too many Dems were siding with Bush

He is doing for Obama what Dems should have done for him in 04. That is have his back during the smear campaign.

3. He didn't get to see it, but he saw the interview on NBC with Brian Williams

Dad thought he was pissed over what happened 4 years ago and knows that he wants to prevent the same from happening to Obama. Despite the unity speeches, he still isn't a fan of the Clintons due to the primaries. So he is coming around. :hi:

4. I hope he watches Joe Biden

At least that speech. Does he get online at all? I really think Joe talking about his life and his values will really speak to your dad's heart. I know it did mine. I watched a little of the after hours party, or whatever the name is,and it did kind of look like not everybody is so quick to forgive the primaries. I also was really happy to hear people talking about continuing the fight after Obama is elected, that change isn't going to happen by a magic wand. Just really uplifting. I was starting to get a little discouraged, but today turned that all the way around. I really think we can do this!

5. No, he is not an online person, but he is politically aware

He likes Biden too. He saw his speech too. I can relate to his tragedy of losing his wife and daughter before Christmas because my beloved aunt died of a brain aneurysm two weeks before X-mas. His personal story make McCain's POW story look like a day in the park (not that torture is fun).

He also thinks that Biden was a good pick because he doesn't have to be like Obama, just be there to help him. He's been smiling a lot since Obama picked him, he knows years from now, he will be able to tell his grandchildren, great-grandchildren that he was a partner the the first black POTUS. :)

I am noticing that people are ready to move past the media drivel that's desperate to keep the primary wars flaming, but after tonight, I am feeling like there really is party unity, and we really are going to win this thing. I too was glad to hear people continuing the fight after Obama is elected. It's very uplifting and again, I too think we are going to do this. :patriot:

but even when we did see him, he didn't speak with this kind of force, personality and bluntness. I think the main problem was all the bad advice he was getting.
