LOL. I always love listening to Biden on Meet the Press or on C-Span sessions of Foreign RElations committee, etc. But he seemed a bit lost at the teleprompter sometimes. He also inadvertantly said Bush had increased taxes on big corporations when he meant that he'd given them tax cuts.

Oh well. His fervor and direct attacks on Bush and McSame were terrific.

1. yeah those were slips
There was another I can't remember where he caught himself and corrected

Sometimes Joe is like a big clumsy puppy just charging in, tail wagging, knocking things over trying to please.

I have watched him in person speak for 30-45 minutes with no notes, and he has his facts cold, does not misspeak. I think he was on a hell of an emotional high, and was also in an unfamiliar role where what he said would affect more than himself if he slipped that threw him off a bit.

And let's face it - this was a big damned moment for him. He ran for pres not because he wanted the big chair, but because it would be an opportunity to further his life's work. That didn't work out; he "got up" and went back to work; then this thing comes up. Despite all the rumors, he did not KNOW until a couple of days ago. His family is so close - his sons, Jill, his mom, all have been behind him, on the stump with him - and they were all there, watching him. And he knew that. I doubt I'd have been able to construct a complete sentence!

I'd freak out. I wouldn't just stumble on a couple of words!
