Kerry gave the speech I was waiting to hear (video link)

If Kerry had this been aggressive, unguarded and passionate in 2004, one can only imagine that things would have turned out differently. He gave the speech, the kind of speech missing from love-in in Denver. Man, that was good. He tore down the McCain maverick myth, and RE-DEFINED HIM as "Candidate McCain" vs. Senator McCain... OMG, THAT'S ehat Democrats have needed to do... "Talk about being FOR it before he was agianst IT... Before McCaint debates Brack Obama, he should finish the deabate with himslef... what's more, Seneator McCain who once railed against Karl ROve tactics is now using the same tactics ("Rove-McCain tactics"... he accused McCain of Swiftboat tactics... OMG.

Kerry gave THE speech. Please have a listen, if you missed it.

Massachusetts Sen. John Kerry, who lost the 2004 presidential contest, forcefully defended Barack Obama's patriotism in a speech Wednesday at the Democratic National Convention and assured the party faithful that "this time we're going to win."

"This election is a chance for America to tell the merchants of fear and division: You don't decide who loves this country," Kerry, 64, said. "You don't decide who is a patriot."

John Kerry in his 2008 convention speech recalled his experience in 2004, when a third-party group, Swift Boat Veterans for Truth, ran TV ads that questioned his service during the Vietnam War and contributed to his defeat.

He questioned why some people still believed in John McCain's "myth of a maverick" and listed what he said were McCain's changes of position since he became a presidential candidate.

John Kerry said Obama was taught his patriotism by his family, including his great-uncle Charles Payne, an Army veteran who helped liberate a concentration camp during World War II. John Kerry's DNC speech saluted Payne who was in the convention hall.

1. That speech was payback.
It was right on. Kerry is enjoying being the bulldog.

3. you SAID it.. This convention needed MORE of this tone and content.
Democrats ARE angry, Independents and some Republicans ARE angry... Kerry tapped that and expressed that. We need to revive that anger and all the reason WHY we are, should be angry and then define ourselves as the solution/alternative.

4. Kerry was always attacking Bush like this in 2004, so corpmedia heavily edited his speeches, rallies
and press releases in order that American people not hear his harsh attacks and challenges to Bush.

What Kerry did NOT have was a Dem PARTY or Dem leadership and lawmakers willing to stick their necks out to further his attacks as many of our best known Dems did NOT want to take on Bush and Rove at their most powerful - waiting, instead, to speak out only after Bush's approval ratings had been under 40% for nearly two years.
