Regarding the crowd at Obama's speech in Germany
Do we have a good approximation for the number attending? I had heard it to be 200,000, but a Rightwing asshole I know said that it was in fact 20,000 but "the leftist media never reported the correction."

I'd Google it, but I'm not sure that I'd know which is the most reliable source. Thanks for your help.

4. LOL! But that was for his free concert, not his speech
Thanks for the pic, but ultimately I'd like a source that I can cite for this asshole, because he'll just dismiss a photo as "inconclusive."

Unless it's a photo of unidentified trailers, which he'll accept as "conclusive" evidence of a massive WMD program.

23. Sadly, that's the bottom line
He's one of those "I've made up my mind, so fuck you" kinds of assholes. It's an online discussion, so I don't want anyone who's reading it to be left with the impression that the asshole was correct on this point.

2. If you compare the crowds to what Berlin had for Live 8 a few years back
the crowds were almost identical in size. Both were held at the same exact location. I rewatched the Green Day Live8 video and if you compare that to Obama's speech - both crowds were almost identical in size.

unless I actually cut him open and show him that he's full of shit, he won't believe it.

12. Is Reuters good enough?
...
Obama earned good reviews for a trip that took him to Iraq, Afghanistan, the Middle East and Europe, where he met with world leaders, visited U.S. troops and spoke to a crowd of 200,000 in Berlin.

7. I was there, the German media said at LEAST 200K
Edited on Thu Aug-28-08 09:26 AM by 48percenter
if not more, this based on previous events on the Fan Meile (street leading up to the Victory Column aka auf Deutsch: Siegessäule) You can consider me a reliable source. :hi:

I was directly in front of the podium, this shot was taken looking back towards the entry gates and security for the event.

11. That's for damn sure.
It's a typical Rightwing tactic: throw up so much bullshit that there's no way an opponent can debunk it all in realtime, and then afterward the Rightie can claim victory by saying "you didn't disprove what I was saying."

It's juvenile and intellectually dishonest.

21. Berliner Morgenpost: ... about 200 000 and.....
Berliner Morgenpost said "etwa 200 000" (about 200 000):

http://www.morgenpost.de/printarchiv/seite3/article728145/Kandidat_begeistert_deutsche_Politik.html

.. but there was another article about those who followed it on live TV.
I guess you understand what "5.5 Millionen" means...
