30. McCain's Fingers look like Claws the Photographer may have suggested
he hide his daggers

Also "According to Dr. House" you can diagnosis a number of aliments by what the finger tips look like
He could be hiding "clubbing" of the Fingers which is a sign of disease
that's my tinfoil opinion

3. That's his, "I mean business." look. What is that gold band, his POW bracelet?
Back when the Vietcon relased the POWs people had braclets with the name of a captured trooper. I was at at friend's house watching TV when the plane touched down at a military base and the guys poured out of the plance. As the names were called out one guy, with the last name of Dove, was the name on the bracelet of my friend. She was pretty jazzed about it.

Obama Speech Stage Resembles Ancient Greek Temple

DENVER (Reuters) - Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama's big speech on Thursday night will be delivered from an elaborate columned stage resembling a miniature Greek temple.
....................

The stage, similar to structures used for rock concerts, has been set up at the 50-yard-line, the midpoint of Invesco Field, the stadium where the Denver Broncos' National Football League team plays.

Some 80,000 supporters will see Obama appear from between plywood columns painted off-white, reminiscent of Washington's Capitol building or even the White House, to accept the party's nomination for president.

He will stride out to a raised platform to a podium that can be raised from beneath the floor.

The show should provide a striking image for the millions of Americans watching on television as Obama delivers a speech accepting the Democratic presidential nomination.

35. Most "new members" take the counsel of many years and READ before posting.
Edited on Thu Aug-28-08 01:07 PM by TahitiNut
If you had done so, perhaps you'd know that DUers are fairly well-informed and the "news" you were INFORMING me (and others) of has been hashed and rehashed here for over 24 hours. To fail to READ first and ASSUME that another is as ill-informed AND then redundantly post something that's been posted and reposted is, at best, inconsiderate. (Literally, failing to consider.) You then got a gentle (humorous) CLUE ... and then a heavier (humorous) CLUE ... and think YOU are being insulted? Nonsense. Utter fucking nonsense. (If that's your 'best foot' being put forward. I'd hate to see the other. I'm not favorably impressed. Polite "new members" do a better job of introducing themselves. Wise up.)

not consider your first reply humorous ---it was snarky and I have no intention of taking counsel of snarky elders.
The fact is--I posted the article for your convenience (and for the OP since he did not seem to know that Sen. Obama was going to make his own stage 'greek-like".

have a good day.

36. "This is such a lame attack point from the Republicans." Well, it's WORSE than that.
Greek Revival architecture was the common style of antebellum plantations, as well as the predominant federal architecture. The dog whistles are blowing.

The Belle Meade Plantation (1853)

38. I personally think the set is more about secuirty than style.
There are contemporarily obligatory media functions (LCD screens, etc.) for any such event and the theme is clearly "federal architecture" but I'd say the Secret Service had a hand in dealing with sight lines and evacuation routes.
