8/19 Rasmussen - Louisiana US Senate Poll
I know it's a week old, but I didn't see posted it at the time.

Landrieu Opens 16-Point Lead in Louisiana

http://www.rasmussenreports.com/public_content/politics/election_20082/2008_senate_elections/louisiana/election_2008_louisiana_senate

Senator Mary Landrieu, once viewed as the most vulnerable Democratic incumbent this election year, has opened a significant lead over Republican challenger John Kennedy in her bid for re-election.

The latest Rasmussen Reports telephone survey in the state shows the Louisiana Democrat attracts 53% of the vote while the Republican hopeful earns just 37% support. A month ago, Landrieu was leading Kennedy by only five percentage points, 49% to 44%.

Since that time, Landrieu has solidified her support among Democrats while Kennedy has lost ground with Republicans. The incumbent senator attracts now attracts 84% of Democrats, up 10 percentage points from a month ago. Kennedy wins just 72% of the Republican vote, down 10 points from July.

While Landrieu's election vulnerability now seems a thing of the past, many Republican Senate seats are potentially in play for Democrats including seats in Alaska, New Hampshire, Oregon, New Mexico, Colorado, Mississippi, Minnesota and Virginia.

1. She's far from perfect,

but I'm still glad we'll have her. I honestly thought that her re-election campaign would be more difficult.

3. That is what I thought..
She won by an eyelash in 2002.

I was worried that after Katrina and the election of Jindal as Guv, that we would lose this one this year.

Glad to see it ain't so.

6. I think Mary's greatest strength
is campaigning. If ya run against her don't fuck with her cause she makes going medieval look like a walk on the bayou. I've seen some of the ads and John Kennedy is way over his head.

8. In 2002
The gop candidate Suzanne Haik Terrell, one of the most evil, vile human beings on the planet started going negative on Mary. Mary whipped out her ginzu knives and sliced and diced. It was a sight to behold. Kinda like what Kathleen Blanco did to Piyush in 2004 when he started straying from the path of truthfulness.

I have never been more nervous about an election that didn't occur in my state.
