Why is it taking so long for DU to raise $50k for Obama?

Okay, I know some of us may not have the money and others already give or have given through other channels, but in a community as vibrant as this, I'm surprised it's taking so long to raise the money. So far, only 335 people have contributed, and I'm sure DU has a lot of more active members than that. For sake of Obama and the nation, and to help make DU influential, we should not only try to raise $50k, but we should try to burst that frickin' thermometer on the donations page.

T-shirts, the magnets, and the contests offered on the Obama site. It didn't seem that you could participate in those through the DU page. Maybe I am wrong and just didn't know how to find it. I did make one donation through DU.
