Alex Castellanos Now Advisor to McCain Campaign

Alex Castellanos of subliminal message fame is now an "outside advisor" to the McCain campaign, according to the New York Times:

Alex Castellanos, formerly the top advertising strategist for Mitt Romney, has been a regular guest on CNN’s bipartisan panel on Democratic election nights. Mr. Castellanos is also now an outside adviser to Mr. McCain’s advertising team.

Readers may remember him as the perpetrator of the infamous RATS commercial. (Here's a YouTube video of it.)

Subliminal Message In McCain’s New Ad?
By: Nicole Belle on Sunday, July 20th, 2008 at 9:00 AM - PDT
Did you catch it? At the beginning of the ad, the title burns onto a picture of Obama, but the order is striking.

A L Q D C MT RY

al Qaeda Commentary? al Qaeda Cemetary? al Qaeda Documentary? Who knows? But it’s not accidental. In fact, Alex Castellanos is reportedly now working for the McCain campaign. Who is Alex Castellanos?

Subliminal Advertising Leaves Its Mark On The Brain

ScienceDaily (Mar. 9, 2007) — University College London researchers have found the first physiological evidence that invisible subliminal images do attract the brain's attention on a subconscious level. The wider implication for the study, published in Current Biology, is that techniques such as subliminal advertising, now banned in the UK but still legal in the USA, certainly do leave their mark on the brain.

1. This is the crux of the whole issue
Edited on Thu Aug-28-08 01:18 PM by Prefer
whether you recognize and act against what is done to you, or whether you just ignore it and pretend it is just a coincidence.

There is a mafia-esque type of dual level communication to everything out of this Bush camp -
- "You're either with us, or against us." (could be directed at terrorists or "subversives" like liberals)
- "Thanks for the portrait of ML King, I can't wait to hang it"
- The religious references in the Bush speeches that signal the Evangelical movement.

This is a long standing recurring pattern of these people and their operation. They are always running an insider level of communication through symbols.

4. Psychological manipulation of the electorate cannot be ignored.
I understand your point but subliminal advertising DOES manipulate the brain and these a-holes need to be called out. This will not be the focus of the MSM but probably will get some mention among the bloviating tools on CNN, MSNBC and other networks which only reach a few million people. These ads could be seen by a MUCH higher audience on national networks.

3. That "RATS" ad was genius, though.
Great subliminal messaging.

6. While you are at it look up "Ba'al"
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Baal

Strikes a chord with the "left behind" set perhaps. Maybe it's pure tinfoil but I really don't think anything is accidental in the political big leagues and presentations like this are put together frame-by-frame.

Gotta hand it to these guys - they really know how to push a narrative.
