I think Obama should air McCain's ad for the audience at Invesco...
the one where McCain is going to "directly address his opponent" in an attempt to upstage his big night.

He should find out when it's going to air, because McCain might be addressing his opponent, but his opponent won't see it if he's on stage in Denver.

But, I think that Obama should get a live feed to one of the networks airing the ad, and air it at Invesco field, and then right afterwards, address his opponent live, in prime time right there in Denver, and let him have it right between the eyes. No holds barred. No punches pulled. Smack him down, and do it hard.

Game on, motherfucker!

5. that's the current rumor here in DC. Makes sense
supposedly he's going to note the historic nature of Obama's nomination, congratulate him and basically say he's looking forward to the campaign and may the best man win.

Wouldn't surprise me at all.

3. I'm tired of McCain getting attention for ads he doesn't plan to put money behind.
Edited on Thu Aug-28-08 03:25 PM by nsd
He's just banking on the news media playing them for free. We shouldn't encourage that.

And we shouldn't step on the history of this night by letting McCain in on it.

Edit: grammar

6. I think Obama playing it, then responding to McCain "face to face" as it were,
knocking down all McCain's points, would overshadow any impact McCain's ad may have had. I really love the idea.

9. nah, don't take the bait.
People watching that ad aren't going to say, "look at that! that McCain's a nice guy!" unless they are already half in the tank for him. It is so obviously a cynical attempt to step on the convention. Best to ignore it, unless asked and then say that it's good he's no longer lying.

10. I like the idea, that is something bold
What bait? if they see the ad in advance they can tear it apart piece by piece and go at him in front of the largest audience of the election and make him look like a fool.
