Pawlenty cancels numerous public appearances
http://rawstory.com/news/2008/Pawlenty_cancels_numerous_public_appearances_0828.html

Associated Press
Published: Thursday August 28, 2008

Republican presidential nominee-in-waiting John McCain stayed mum about his pick of a running mate Thursday and one top prospect, Minnesota Gov. Tim Pawlenty, abruptly canceled numerous public appearances.

Without explanation, Pawlenty called off an Associated Press interview at the last minute, as well as other media interviews in Denver, site of the Democratic National Convention.

Others believed to be in contention for the No. 2 slot on the GOP ticket included former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney, who was meeting with donors throughout California, and Democrat-turned-independent Sen. Joe Lieberman of Connecticut, who was vacationing on New York's Long Island.

7. I'd be surprised if Polenta wasn't McMansion's VP
Polenta has been uncharacteristically attacking Obama in the past day or two, using a Rovian
script.

What a snooze of a ticket! Evangelicals have got the VP of their choice, though. Mrs. Polenta
is a raving rightwingnut Christianist.

8. "Romney left his beachfront San Diego home Thursday morning with an overnight bag"
His son, Matt, said Romney was headed to an unspecified location in the state. Asked about being vice president, the elder Romney said: "I don't have anything for you right now."

9. Oh please let it be Pawlenty
The fact that he vetoed $6.7 billion to help repair/replace bridges right before the bridge collapse will sink the campaign.

Combine it with Gustav which will get people talking about the (lack of) response to Katrina, McCain would be finished right now.
