Complaint Filed Over Mccain Stickers On Denver Police Car

DENVER -- A Grand Junction man has filed a complaint against a Denver police officer who allegedly put two John McCain stickers on his patrol motorcycle.

Warren Jones, 32, said the officer became belligerent when he asked about the stickers and refused to identify himself.

Denver police spokesman Lt. Ron Saunier said placing a political sticker on a city-owned vehicle would be a violation of police policy. He said the officer is allowed to express his political views on his personal vehicle, but not on city property.

Political stickers on the official vehicles of the police is absolutely inappropriate. I hope Mr. Jones got the officer's badge number.
