1. Sounds like it
After the speech by Obama last night I don't blame them for staying home.

Still, I like your thought on Hutchinson. If would help McCain reinforce the misconception that he is a maverick, but I doubt she would bring much to the table.

The repugs really want her to run for Texas gov. when that comes around again, but they're probably desperate about now. Maybe.

I hope they don't make it. Sarah Palin would not be scary, as she would completely undercut the "Obama isn't ready" attacks.

5. God, I hope so!
Twenty years ago, when a bank failed in Texas, Kay and her husband Ray Hutchison were on a note for $10 million. As I recall, they ended up settling it for $1 million, and skated on $9 million.

The president was GHW Bush.

Kay has a shot at being Texas governor, but if she runs for VP, that shot probably goes away, as the national vetting will be more damaging to her.
