It is a commonplace to observe that the VP choice is the first real opportunity to assess the judgment of someone who wants to be president. Obama demonstrated solid judgment in choosing Joe Biden, an experienced man who is an acknowledged foreign-policy expert. In contrast, McCain showed poor judgment as well as irresponsibility in choosing someone who is simply not qualified to step in as president and Commander-In-Chief, someone with ZERO foreign-policy experience or credentials.
This poor judgment is made more consequential by the fact that McCain, the oldest man ever to run for the presidency and a man with known health problems, has purposely put an unqualified person a shaky heartbeat away from the presidency for reasons unrelated to her competence or ability. (I smell a Rove.)
McCain has failed his first test. With stakes this high, it's one strike and you're out. I only hope the voters agree.
