Don't know if his polling numbers are strong for him in CT, but I'm willing to work for his opponent.

3. The reason it has not happened already ...
is because we needed Lieberman to caucus with the Dems in order to maintain our majority in a nearly evenly split Senate and have the rest of the chairmanships. Next year he won't have that kind of power when the Dems have several seats to spare. I think he's going to retire from the Senate if McCain loses and count on a cabinet spot if heaven forbid McCain wins.
