POLL: Palin Not Helping McCain with Women Voters, Obama-Biden crushes McLame-Phalin 53% to 35%.
Palin Not Helping McCain with Women Voters
from Taegan Goddard's Political Wire

A new survey conducted for EMILY's List suggests Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin is not helping the Republican ticket with female voters. Among all women surveyed, Obama-Biden leads McCain-Palin, 53% to 35%.

When asked how the running mates were picked, half of those surveyed said Obama chose Biden based on his experience, while 29% said he was chosen for political reasons. Meanwhile, 20% said McCain chose Palin for experience and 59% said his pick was for political purposes.

Key finding: A 55% majority of women voters who backed Sen. Hillary Clinton in the Democratic primary say that Palin's inclusion on the ticket makes them less likely to vote for McCain; just 9% say her presence on the ticket makes them more likely to support McCain.

1. Some female pundit on CNN (I think) said....

...that women are harder on women then men are. This seems to be bearing out.

And it takes one to know one.

Men are always blinded by looks, and do not see what is lurking underneath.

42. The female pundit is an idiot then
It's the issues not her gender. I supported Hillary and I voted for her because I felt she was the best choice. That she is a woman was just icing on the cake. I won't vote for someone just because she's female.

3. Biggest political miscalculation--assuming that women stick together
and will support each other. All of us women know that NO ONE is harder on women than...other women. Women are just as sexist against their own gender as men are to women. And women are NOT stupid--we know unqualified, and we know someone who is anti-feminist, when we see it. The GOP thinks women are stupid, and totally misread us.

Edited on Wed Sep-03-08 02:06 PM by wienerdoggie
existed because Hillary became a beloved and unique figure in politics over the years, not just because she's female. It's not going to happen with Miss Mooseburgers, who shoved to the front of the line and tried to eat Hillary's lunch.

19. I think most "PUMAS" were
PUMAS for about a week or two.

Until the dissapointment left and better judgement took over.

As far as I'm concerned anyone who is still a PUMA is not a real Democrat at all and would vote for McCain and his vagina because it doesn't matter to them where the vagina comes from.

Women don't care if someone hunts; they care if they can go to the hospital and get care, and that they can afford it.

Here's to keeping our eyes on the prize.....don't let the media tell you otherwise..

Palin seems to be the type of woman that other women hate. And she's very anti-woman. Women who are not right wing loonies are going to see right through her.

32. I was so mad on Friday, I couldn't see straight.
I know republicans think women are stupid and worthless, but to have it so blatantly thrown in my face. I watched Palin's intro speech, and when she mentioned Hillary, I went off. The nerve of her to think that she can even remotely compare herself to Senator Clinton. Palin is a lot of things, but she's not a feminist, and she's not a hero to a lot of females.

And now the republicans are throwing around charges of sexism if anyone dares question her background or experience. Well, screw that. If she thinks she can play in the big leagues, then I want her tested. If she thinks she can claim Hillary's mantle, then I want to see her prove it. And I know she can't.

Okay, I got to stop, because I'm getting pissed again.

17. As a woman and former Hillary supporter..
I am insulted in so many ways....

That they think I am going to vote for McCain just because he picked someone with a vagina...never mind that she is to the right of Attilla the Hun.

I am also insulted that these Republicans think women vote as one huge block.

I had already decided to fully support Obama. Did they really think that I would change my mind and support these creep because I supported Hillary?

Give me a huge break.

18. Your post could be my exact words!
Do they really, seriously think Palin even comes close to having the skills that Hillary has?

No way in hell. Palin is a light weight. Hillary is a woman of proven substance, as are many of us. We are savvy enough to look past the Republican ploy and actually question Palin's credentials.

But wait, how can we question that which does not exist?

picture prior to our house burning down last summer. They've had to adapt to all new furniture.
We just last week bought a similar chair that will go in the house we've bought (we've been in a rental for almost a year)and they've been in that new chair twice together.

25. it was offensive this pick to pick up hillary voters. this woman is nothing like hillary
then the more offensive outrage is promoting her as a real mom after we all watch her do pathetic things to her children. that would turn a woman off a woman faster than anything. did me.

at first i laughed and scoffed at his selction. but when i started hearing her promoted as a real mom, what she is running on, and then heard she didnt get medical care when she leaked water, i was angry.
