<When his motorcade passed through the Appalachian hamlet of Smithfield, dozens of people seemed to be spontaneously lining the streets. A handful of townsfolk stood with their arms crossed, but far more took pictures and waved homemade signs. Near the edge of town, an elderly man attached to an oxygen tank clutched a video camera, filming Mr. Obama as he rolled by.>

they are doing the small-town work in the swing states to lock up the electoral college.
