Zogby, Kerry opens up solid lead in Iowa (7pts)
Kerry Gets Solid Lead In Iowa
John Kerry could carry the state of Iowa in the 2004 United States presidential election, according to a poll by Zogby Interactive published in the Wall Street Journal Online. 52.2 per cent of respondents would vote for the Democratic nominee, while 45.2 per cent would support Republican incumbent George W. Bush.

Independent candidate Ralph Nader garners the support of 0.6 per cent of respondents. The election is scheduled for Nov. 2.

1. It's not going to be close.
Bush is coming here on Friday but I can't find any undecideds who like him. Kerry has great organization here that were thrilled during the caucuses.

2. good
if we can seal Iowa earlier than expected, more effort can be put into Arkansas and Missouri.

4. Oh yeah, and Vilsack's poll numbers are shooting up.
I still can't figure out why our Cong. Delegation is 5-2 when Dems keep carrying it. Weak candidates?

5. The big dog will deliver Arkansas ...
...

I don't worry about that state. All they need do is set Clinton loose and he will deliver Arkansas.

3. Just remember Zogby isn't scientific ...
...

He takes real numbers and then "guesstimates" based on historical trends. In other words, he pulls shit out of his ass.

14. Gallup does the same thing with their "likely voter" model. Zogby has the
best recent track record.

8. I hope so
Iowa is fairly liberal state that has education high on the list of importance to them. We also are one of the closest states in the last elections. What we need in Iowa is Liberal Radio. Ed Shultz, Air America, anything! Every station but NPR has right wing nutcases on them. I have emailed some stations to state what I think, but haven't gotten anywhere yet. Help from the Heartland!

11. I love that Nader is getting .6% - not a lot of fools falling for
Ralphy in Iowa.

12. Remeber though,
Ralph was pulling like 5% going into the election in some polls last time--but when it came time to pull the lever, he ended up with 1.6% or something. I think where Nader is pulling, it will go Kerry. Thus, low Nader numbers make me think it will be too close in those states.

Example:

I saw Florida was 47-47% for K and B with Nader pulling 2%. If it were election day, I think a few of those Naderites will come to their senses.

15. Did anyone see Bill Schneider of CNN report these numbers and then ask:
"Why isn't Kerry doing better?"

I thought I was going to blow a gasket.

WTF?

18. Iowa SHOULD like Kerry-Edwards
After all, that's the ticket they chose: Kerry first, Edwards second.

So, come on down to Missouri and help us push the battle down into Dixie. Fight them f***ers on their home territory.
