Lets compare 'media coverage' of DNC first night and RNC 's first night
coverage. Example: DNC..Woodruff said RNC Woodruff said.. I would like to have factual evidence (transcript or quotes) of the media biased. In the face, no way to deny to one-sided partiality. Then, send it to every media outlet for comment or explanation. How many tear-downs, insults or slurs, etc.,etc., You get the general ideal.
Kiss Repug butt and bite the Dems.

Please don't poo poo the ideal. We will only have 'one first' night coverage of the RNC and after that it will get lost in the showblitz the $70+ million they spent to schmooze the public and media.

4. The bias is too obvious to even bother with such a count.

I don't mean to poo-poo your idea, but to whom would you present such a comparison?

14. I realize the media don't give a rats behind if we watch them or not, I
Edited on Mon Aug-30-04 11:25 PM by myday38
have been writing them for months. I would like to make actuals to send to DNC, Kerry-Edwards Team, Major Democratic players, Major
Papers Editorial sections, Local Editorial Sections....
ANYbody that will listen...We must speak out because if we don't no one ever will. I am not talking go straight to cnn and ask. I mean give it to bigger people to ask. Again, in my personal opinion, the satellite, cable companies don't care if we watch or not. The distributors don't care because they know we will still buy their programming no matter what. Stations don't care unless you boycott products that pay for their timeslots. So do we go all defeatist?
There are much smarter people on these boards than me...I am open to
suggestions.

11. I ended up going and getting a case of beer.
*sigh*

I'm convinced now that Bush was absolutely, unquestionably behind the Swiftvets for Bush ads. Why? Because NOW they are saying Kerry hasn't talked at all about his plans. They are talking "the future".

By distracting and causing a focus on the Swiftvets, the message that Kerry has been speaking about his plans and the future has been drowned out until the RNC.

So, Bush gets to come in and essentially roll out a precisely planned marketing campaign displaying him (once again) as a strong leader with a plan, conservative but with 'big tent' family values. Don't worry about the last 4 years...he has a plan. Forget that has consistently said one thing and does another. Focus on the future (because the past is re-written anyway).

And Kerry? Hold on to your wallet! Just a tax and spend liberal without a plan.

<pops another cold one>

13. Gotta give Alan Simpson a little credit....
He's a Repub, but he's not a fire breather.

He accused a lot of Dems of being "Bush haters", but also mentioned that the first time he had seen as much hate was the Clinton years and it disgusted him.

He also condemned the proposed Federal amendment regarding gay marriage....

Oh, and Cuomo is good as always...just had to correct Larry on a Kerry "quote" cited by Rudy G.

15. Thanks for starting this thread
and trying to do something positive about this over the top media bias. You're right. We need to document specific examples of the differences in coverage. Maybe we could look on the threads that were running during the DNC. Did anyone bookmark them? Unfortunately, I only watched c-sapn during the DNC, and I am not watching any of this. But I think that between the threads in July and the threads now, plus transcripts if they're available, we have the basis for a devastating comparison of the coverage.
