BUSH FAILED America on 911 ... I repeat BUSH FAILED America on 911 ...
Edited on Tue Aug-31-04 11:10 AM by mzmolly
Say it with me. The Kerry camp needs to trumpet this from the roof tops!

How on earth can this guy expolit a major FAILURE on the part of himself/his administration.

I hope the Kerry campaign hits them HARD with the 911 issue! We've got so much evidence that Bush is partially to blame for the 3000 dead, yet he has the NERVE to promote 911 as some sort of sick success? :puke:

5. and don't forget.....
Cheney jumped down his own hidey hole.

Remember when Reagan was shot and wounded in Washington? General Alexander Haig, at the time, Secretary of State, jumped up and said...."Dont worry. I am in charge."
Where is Haig today?

6. You are correct ... however, we can't come out and say that. We can
say "he failed America" because ample evidence exists to that FACT however. :hi:

7. His biggest failure has been turned into his biggest success ???
Funny how they were able to fool people like that, isn't it?

8. Indeed. This seems to be strategy for them. It's interesting to watch.
Rove says "attack a man at his greatest strength" thus the SWBL ads I presume?

I can only guess the other part of his strategy is "prop a guy up at his greatest weakness?"

10. Embracing Failure and Coopting an opponent's strongest attribute
is a Bush family value.
As is taking credit for his opponent's successes.

Almost like W is proclaiming that there is not much difference between a loss and a failure, just so long as Bush gets political credit for any positive results which may emanate from the confrontation:

Not to bore you with policy, but consider:

State's Rights and the Gore v. Bush SCt decision
a. No Child Left Behind--coopting Kennedy on education
b. The Homeland Security Department
c. The 9/11 Commission
d. The 9/11 Commission findings regarding intelligence measured against the original structural recommendations for the Homeland Security Dept.
e. The Reagan Legacy and Stem Cell Research
f. The Dead-or-Alive Hunt for Osama morphs into boasting about Sadaam being in a jail-cell
g. Enron and Bush proclamations about Corporate Responsibility laid against his and Cheney's own accounting and insider trading background, and then his first Presidential pardon of a Texas banker.
h. Taking credit for drafting Medicare reform and lying about the costs his fiscal conservative constituents. (ie. to please a group who did not lend him support--the elderly--he had to lie to his own)
i. First Amendment Free Speech and Campaign Finance--again coopting his opponents message as a last minute attempt to look like the victor.

The list goes on and on and probably can be simplified as just matter of 'flip-flopping'...but I see something more demented here, something syptomatic of a psychological disease:

His dialogue with the American people not only lacks any type of policy justification or discussion but is also summarily reduced to sloganeering, to a point in which words like "catastrophic success" become part of the Bush lexicon and are reported by the media as mere public speaking gaffs.

What if he means it!!!

Tough love really is tough unforgiving self-serving war talk.
Collateral damages really is an unavoidable cost of war profiteering.
Operation Iraqi Freedom really is Operation Infinite Iraqi Occupation.

Does it matter what the President means as long as no one is paying attention to language...just so long as his supporters see his slogans as 'meaningful' even if they are completely disingenuous...and his handlers are provided endless opportunities by friendly media sources to translate these ADMISSIONS/words into the psuedo-spiritual language of the Bush Christian right...by those who take language for granted.

An educated electorate is Rove's worst nightmare.
Think about it.

And donchyou fuggedaboudit!

I agree, people don't want to take time to be educated. They want soundbites, and The D's have to get better at giving them our own.

13. WHY is the RNC treating 9/11 like a Catastrophic Success
It is shameful, but the media does not have the guts to call them on it.
